Business Challenges

Federación Patronal Seguros is a leading insurance company in Argentina. Founded in 1921, it offers a wide range of insurance products for individuals and businesses, including family, automotive, and labor risk insurance.

The company previously managed its workloads and databases on on-premises servers, using outdated data analysis models that were becoming obsolete and unable to support its growth plans. Whenever additional computing or storage capacity was needed, new hardware had to be purchased, imported, installed, and configured—a process that could take up to a year.

To overcome these limitations, company leaders decided to invest in digital transformation and migrate their workloads and databases to the cloud.

Federación Patronal Seguros chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for its flexibility, which allows the company to scale computing and storage capacity dynamically, adapting to the needs of each project.

Why Federación Patronal chose Oracle

After conducting an in-depth analysis of available market solutions, Federación Patronal selected OCI for its innovative architecture, user-friendly interface, and flexibility. These features enable the company’s IT department to quickly adjust storage and computing resources on demand, providing agility and control throughout each project.

Another key factor was Oracle’s comprehensive customer support, ensuring the company maximizes the potential of every technology implemented.

Results

By migrating its workloads and databases to OCI, Federación Patronal Seguros has optimized technology resource consumption and gained flexibility to scale resources as needed. With OCI, the company can now expand computing and storage capacity in just three hours—a process that previously took up to a year.

Daily consumption in Oracle Cloud is adjusted automatically based on each project’s needs, resulting in up to 60% savings in IT infrastructure maintenance costs. By eliminating the need to manage physical servers and hardware, the company has improved budget control and allowed its teams to focus on enhancing services and business operations.

Operational efficiency has also improved dramatically—processes that once took nine months now take only one—significantly reducing time-to-market for new services.

Additionally, by adopting Oracle Analytics, the company can now use integrated AI tools to perform deeper, more strategic, and more accurate data analysis, generating insights to develop differentiated services—such as reviewing customer portfolios to suggest better coverage options or optimize the service provided to insurance brokers. This data-driven approach helps the company respond quickly to performance indicators and adapt to the evolving dynamics of the Argentine market.

The successful experience with OCI led Federación Patronal Seguros to further expand its use of Oracle technologies—recently adopting Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for its HR department.

Partners

The migration of Federación Patronal Seguros workloads and databases to OCI was supported by Preteco, an Oracle partner. The Preteco and Oracle teams worked together through all stages of the process, managing technical aspects to ensure a smooth and fast migration.

Preteco developed a two-phase migration plan: the first focused on moving critical workloads such as the company’s data analytics models to Oracle Analytics, followed by the migration of the core database, which contains policyholder information accumulated over more than 50 years.

The synergy between Preteco, Oracle, and Federación Patronal Seguros was crucial to achieving a seamless implementation of all systems on Oracle Cloud.
