Industry innovation on Oracle Cloud
Uber
Uber and Oracle have created a seven-year strategic cloud partnership that will migrate some of Uber’s most critical workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “Uber is revolutionizing the way people, products, and services move across continents and through cities,” says Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. “To deliver on that promise for customers while building value for shareholders, we needed a cloud provider that will help us maximize innovation while reducing our overall infrastructure costs. Oracle provides an ideal combination of price, performance, flexibility, and security to help us deliver incredible customer service, build new products, and increase profitability.”
Volvo Group
Sweden’s Volvo Group is a world-leading provider of transport and infrastructure solutions, offering trucks, buses, construction equipment, power solutions for marine and industrial applications, financing, and services. The company operates in 190 markets with production facilities in 18 countries. Volvo Group created Logivity, a new company that uses a custom-built blockchain platform built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to handle millions of transport and logistics transactions daily, boosting efficiency and bolstering Volvo’s sustainability efforts.
Arab National Bank
One of the largest banks in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia’s Arab National Bank provides financial products and services ranging from retail and corporate banking to investment and brokerage services. The bank selected Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, HCM, and SCM to accelerate their digital roadmap by automating and integrating procurement, budget management, and approval processes and delivering enhanced internal controls and transparency.
Bank of New York Mellon
Bank of New York Mellon is a leading financial services company that touches 20% of the world’s investable assets, with operations in 35 countries. To support their operations and reduce cost and complexity, the company decided to move their finance and HR processes to the cloud. BNY Mellon’s 50,000 global employees are now using an integrated Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and HCM platform to streamline finance and HR processes, improve the employee experience, and reduce system maintenance costs.
M&T Bank
With more than 1,000 branches throughout the Northeast US, M&T Bank has provided community-focused banking services for more than 165 years. To optimize security, agility, and transparency, M&T has begun to migrate to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM and Oracle Financial Services Risk Management. This effort has allowed the bank to consolidate data and create an ecosystem where data and analytics drive business insights that link customer behavior and experience with acquisition, retention, and servicing to generate long-term shareholder and customer value.
Aibel
Aibel is a leader in building and maintaining platforms and other critical infrastructure for the oil, gas, and offshore wind industries. Aibel moved their on-premises Oracle environment to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to provide the company with resilient and secure services and help them optimize costs by scaling projects up and down. With Oracle Database on OCI, Aibel has the foundation to rapidly adapt their business to changing customer behaviors and market expectations.
Aker BP
Aker BP, one of Europe’s largest independent oil exploration and production companies, has an ambitious low-cost, low-carbon strategy that’s driven by data. The company is moving their Oracle Databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Their applications will run in Microsoft Azure, and they’ll use OCI FastConnect to connect directly with an OCI cloud region in Amsterdam while handling disaster recovery in an OCI cloud region in London. Aker BP expects lower costs and increased flexibility in their business operations that will pave the way for enhanced automation. They also expect greater agility to provision new environments to test, develop, and maintain applications.
au Payment Corporation
au Payment Corporation is a Fortune Global 500 company that sells mobile devices and offers mobile communications and broadband services under the “au” brand in Japan. The company chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for their online payment system, which is used by more than 6.5 million consumers and 4,000 companies that provide services such as online games, video and music distribution, and ebooks. With the help of Oracle Real Application Clusters and Active Data Guard, the company achieved high availability and reduced their total cost of ownership by 50%. They also used OCI’s security functions to make customer transactions safer.
Austin FC
Austin FC, one of Major League Soccer’s newer clubs, needed cloud-based infrastructure to manage and analyze data for tracking team operations and player performance. Austin FC sidelined AWS and Snowflake and chose Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and Oracle APEX. Compared with other cloud providers, OCI delivered upgrades in performance, ease of use, and scalability while reducing IT costs.
Chalhoub Group
For more than six decades, Chalhoub Group has been a partner and creator of luxury experiences in the Middle East. The hybrid in-store and online retailer has a portfolio of eight in-house brands and more than 300 international brands in the luxury, beauty, fashion, and art de vivre categories. The company is using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to increase the cost effectiveness and capacity of their computing used to run operations software, including Oracle E-Business Suite.
City of Philadelphia
Overseeing the digital communication and technology strategy for the City of Philadelphia, the Office of Innovation and Technology creates solutions to make city government services more efficient and transparent. The organization wanted to improve service delivery for the city’s human capital business system, so they chose to move it from a managed services data center to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to help lower costs and free up staff to manage other work.
ContinuumCloud
To serve the behavioral health and human services industry, ContinuumCloud provides a spectrum of cloud-based solutions, including electronic health record (EHR), human capital management, and patient engagement software. To enhance the speed and scalability of their EHR application, the company is moving the workload to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The company expects to gain significant cost savings and improved performance by using Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Database running on OCI.
Emerson
As Emerson reshapes their business to become a pure-play global automation company, they have announced the divestiture of Climate Technologies and with that the sale of their St. Louis, Missouri, campus, which holds their primary data center. In support of that change, the company is moving all possible St. Louis data center workloads, including Oracle E-Business Suite and other business applications, to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Enact
Enact, a leading mortgage insurance company, is committed to helping people achieve the dream of homeownership. With the support of Oracle Advanced Customer Services, the company will migrate their Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, improving performance and efficiency.
Enel
One of Europe’s largest electricity providers, Italy’s Enel offers services in 30 countries. The company relies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in a number of territories to safely and reliably run operations such as incident reporting, troubleshooting, and maintenance that are critical to managing Enel’s energy networks.
Glintt
Glintt is a multinational reference in consulting and technological services, with more than 20 years of experience and solutions in more than 430 hospitals, 600 clinics, and 14,000 pharmacies. Through their Nexllence brand, the company also promotes the development and adoption of solutions based on emerging technologies. With the aim of launching a new drug storage and delivery service to customers, Glintt opted for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, which, by managing the main business systems involved, provides greater control of the infrastructure environment.
Liberia Social Safety Nets Project
In the West African country of Liberia, the government’s Social Safety Nets Project delivers income support to low-income households via web and mobile systems. The project relies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to help contain costs, eliminate the need for system upgrades, and scale resources as needed.
Martin Brower
With the goal of making it easier to run great restaurants, Martin Brower provides supply chain services to restaurant chains such as McDonald’s across 18 countries. The company is migrating their global warehouse management system and JD Edwards ERP applications to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to help minimize or eliminate their data center footprint and host the applications in regions local to each global location. The company is live across Oracle global data centers, including in Australia/New Zealand, the UK, Germany, Canada, and the US, with a plan to add workloads in Oracle’s latest cloud region in Chicago later this year.
Naturgy
Serving more than 16 million customers in 20 countries, Spain’s Naturgy is a gas and electricity utility that aims to get to zero carbon emissions by 2050. The company relies on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to host their most important business operations in a secure and modern environment, giving them better control over costs and a better ability to expand capacity when moving into new markets.
Qatar Foundation
The nonprofit Qatar Foundation includes more than 50 entities that focus on education, science, and cultural development. The foundation is now live with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, HCM, and SCM, along with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services including Oracle Autonomous Database. The cloud services replace numerous on-premises systems, including a highly customized Oracle E-Business Suite. Oracle Consulting supported the implementation.
Qualys
A cybersecurity company with more than 10,000 customers globally, Qualys has relied on on-premises colocation centers for computing infrastructure. Given their plans to continue expanding into new market segments, Qualys decided to work closely with Oracle teams to run select workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to allow more flexibility and give them the ability to handle bursts for specific scenarios.
Sierra Nevada Brewing
Founded in Chico, California, in 1980, Sierra Nevada is known for their iconic pale ale, which helped kick off the American craft beer revolution. The company was looking to enhance their analytical abilities and speed, and decided to implement Oracle Essbase alongside their ERP. This has streamlined their reporting process, eliminated legacy budgeting software, and increased the speed of ad hoc analyses by 90%.
stc
Saudi Telecom offers best-in-class technology and solutions across enterprise IT, financial services, digital media, cybersecurity, and other digital services. The company will be migrating their database systems to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer, a high performance cloud database platform that runs in stc’s own data centers. The platform will enable stc to support and scale critical operations support and business support systems while retaining control of their data governance and meeting data security and locality regulations.
Therap Services
A global leader in electronic documentation for organizations that support persons with disabilities, Therap is partnering with Oracle to enhance communication among healthcare providers, offering Therap Secure Video Streaming to deliver visual data about individuals receiving support. The company chose HIPAA-certified Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Media Service because of its security, ease of use, and competitive pricing for large file processing. Therap is also using Oracle Data Science and AI to develop predictive models for claims matching and analytics. These use cases will provide insights to customers that can improve people’s lives through better care.
TVS Credit
Part of the US$8.5 billion TVS Group, TVS Credit furthers the cause of financial inclusion by empowering Indians from across socio-economic backgrounds with financial products that serve their needs. The company selected Oracle Exadata Database Service on OCI to move mission-critical applications from an on-premises data center. The successful migration will improve I/O latency and performance to support peak demands for OLTP and OLAP and provide the business 24/7 availability for applications. TVS Credit will also leverage the automation features to minimize manual interventions and support future scalability and app modernization requirements.
University Health Network
University Health Network encompasses the Toronto General and Toronto Western hospitals, the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, and The Michener Institute of Education. The scope of its research and complexity of its cases have made the network a national and international source for discovery, education, and patient care. The network is moving to Gen 2 Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer to run Oracle Databases for several critical applications, with the goal of lowering costs while maintaining high performance and reliability.
Vector Space Biosciences
Vector Space Biosciences and Oracle have agreed to jointly develop advanced applications in language modeling and visualization. Their goal is to develop countermeasures against diseases associated with the stress that the human body endures during spaceflight. Possible applications include new multiomic innovations in drug repurposing, drug design, materials design, and precision medicine.
WEKA
WEKA delivers a cloud native, software-defined data platform for workloads such as artificial intelligence and machine learning that supports large-scale data collection and processing on high performance computing infrastructure. The company selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for their development environment to reduce costs and improve time to market. Now customers around the world can use the WEKA Data Platform to accelerate their most performance-intensive workloads running on OCI.
Zalando
A leading European online platform for fashion and lifestyle, Zalando brings head-to-toe fashion to more than 50 million active customers in 25 markets, offering clothing, footwear, accessories, and beauty products. With the business expanding, the company chose to migrate certain data from their on-premises data warehouse to Oracle Exadata Database Service to improve speed and stability and enhance security within the EU region.
Abdulrehman Algosaibi G.T.C.
Abdulrehman Algosaibi G.T.C. is a leading Saudi Arabian distributor of medical, pharmaceutical, dental, and veterinary products to government and private hospitals, physician offices, retail pharmacies, medical supply stores, and clinics. The company selected Oracle Sales and Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and HCM to address their business needs with a unified platform supported by embedded machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Caesars Entertainment
With more than 50 world-class resorts, Caesars Entertainment offers the largest and most diversified collection of gaming destinations across the US. In January, the company went live with an expansion of their Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM payroll system, adding 14,000 more employees and replacing three legacy payroll systems.
CDI Energy Products
CDI Energy Products, a Michelin Group Company, is a leader in the custom manufacturing of polymer products and components for industries including aerospace, energy, industrial, LNG cryogenics, and medical. When the company’s business growth was constrained by legacy systems, CDI chose to move to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and SCM after evaluating Oracle and SAP applications.
Club Med
Founded in 1950, Club Med pioneered the all-inclusive vacation club with childcare concept with their Mini Club in 1967. Today they’re the worldwide leader of premium resort all-inclusive holidays for families and active couples, with resorts in 40 countries and nearly 25,000 employees representing 110 nationalities. Still guided by the same pioneering spirit, Club Med initiated a modernization effort for finance and operations. The company chose Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP for its automation and real-time data capabilities, which help the company automate KPI reporting, simplify localization, and unify data on one platform.
Government of Puerto Rico
With the goal of lowering costs and increasing operating efficiency, the Government of Puerto Rico is implementing Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and HCM to run their financial and human resources processes, moving off PeopleSoft instances.
IPS-Integrated Project Services
A global leader in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, IPS-Integrated Project Services grew to more than 45 offices across 17 countries when they acquired the multinational consulting firm Linesight. With this widening scope, they needed a financial system that would better handle currency complexity and provide scalability for growth. After evaluating Oracle and Workday, IPS selected Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Procurement, Risk Management, Analytics, and EPM.
Jack in the Box
Founded and headquartered in San Diego, California, Jack in the Box is a company that includes Jack in the Box, one of the nation’s largest hamburger chains with more than 2,180 restaurants, and Del Taco, the US’s second-largest Mexican-American quick-service restaurant chain with approximately 600 restaurants. The companies chose Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and ERP Analytics to modernize their systems.
The J.M. Smucker Co.
With brands including Smucker’s fruit spreads, Jif peanut butter, Folgers coffee, and Milk-Bone dog snacks, The J.M. Smucker Co. manufactures and markets food products that people and pets love. In the latest quarter, Smucker went live with Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM, providing new capabilities for tax reporting and profitability and cost management. The move is part of an initiative called Project Ignite to launch Smucker’s tax transformation journey, improving tax operations for the company.
K-VA-T Food Stores
With more than 140 stores, Food City serves millions of supermarket customers across Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. To replace a homegrown ERP system that required significant manual effort, the retailer expanded their existing Oracle footprint to add Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials, Analytics Warehouse, Accounting Hub, and Procurement.
Red Rock Resorts
Red Rock Resorts operates regional entertainment destinations that combine amenities, such as restaurants, movie theaters, and bowling, with traditional gaming offerings, such as slot machines, table games, and sports betting. This past quarter, the company went live on Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, building on their Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM implementation.
STMicroelectronics
One of the world’s largest semiconductor companies, STMicroelectronics’ technologies are essential to products ranging from cars to industrial robots. The company chose Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM as part of their ambitious 2025 Human Capital transformation strategy. The move will support an enhanced experience for ST employees and managers throughout the talent management cycle while improving HR operations and simplifying access to HR data and services for approximately 50,000 employees.
Texas Children’s Hospital
One of the US’s most well-respected children’s hospitals, Texas Children’s Hospital went live in January 2023 with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, following the successful go-live of Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and SCM in October 2021. Supported by partners, including Oracle Consulting, Deloitte, Premier International, and Protiviti, the hospital now has integrated finance, supply chain, and HR processes in the cloud, providing real-time insights, improved employee engagement, and the ability to scale for future growth.
UCC Group
One of Japan’s leading coffee manufacturers, UCC Group vertically integrates the coffee value chain from seed to cup. The company must quickly respond to fast-changing consumer trends and preferences, and they have also been expanding internationally over the past few years. To provide the agility to respond to these challenges, the company chose Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, EPM, and SCM for their technology platform.
Waffle House
Waffle House is an icon of casual American dining. The company selected Oracle MICROS Workstations, Oracle Simphony Cloud point of sale systems, and Oracle Payment Cloud Service to serve their diners across 1,980 locations in 25 states. With these integrated services, Waffle House will be able to improve operations with advanced analytics and reporting and have a platform for adding new customer-oriented features.
Weatherford
Weatherford delivers innovative energy services that integrate proven technologies with advanced digitalization to create sustainable offerings for maximum value and return on investment. A longtime user of heavily customized instances of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, the company will be migrating to Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and HCM Analytics to support talent acquisition, improve the skills of their current workforce, and offer employees self-service capabilities. The company operates 345 operating locations in approximately 75 countries and has approximately 17,700 team members representing more than 110 nationalities.
