ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu today announced it has further advanced its agreement with Oracle Academy to train 900 faculty members across 550 ICT institutes of the state in the next three years.
To be delivered by Oracle Academy, Oracle’s flagship philanthropic education program aimed at advancing computer science education globally, 900 faculty members from 550 ICT institutes across the state will enroll in the program. Educators will learn to teach computer science fundamentals, and then train other teachers in their local communities. The collaboration will enable students from urban and rural areas to develop computer science skills and the knowledge needed to progress in the IT industry.
“Education continues to be an important area we invest in, as we help India create a large pool of employable youth. We are thrilled to extend the Oracle Academy curriculum to teachers enrolled with ICT Academy in Tamil Nadu. Through educators, we aim to bridge the digital divide and grant students access to the latest knowledge in computing education,” said Damian Haas, Senior Director – Oracle Academy, Asia Pacific and Japan.
“Our single, most crucial aim is to empower our students with the latest technology innovations as they ready to enter the workforce. Our faculty play a key role in this process and hence we decided to expand our teacher training program across the state.
