To perform the usability test
Open applications in Solaris
Login to Solaris and open some
applications((gnome-terminal(JDS), gedit(JDS) or firefox(JDS)).
Check the keys
Make sure that every key and key combination on the
keyboard can be
exercised and can be operated as expected. Also, make sure that the
right
key events are received when you press the keys.
Note - Pay
special attention to any keys not present in the US keyboard layout
or those mapped differently than the US layout.

Each key generates the correct character onscreen or
correct key event.
To perform the internationalization test
Switch as root user
Set keyboard type and layout
Run /usr/X11R6/bin/xorgconfig
and set proper keyboard type and required layout.
Restart Xserver.
Open applications in Solaris

In step 3, when restarting Xserver by rebooting, no
layout error is
reported. Characters specific to the keyboard layout are shown correctly

corresponds with your keyboard layout).

the
Solaris installation process will begin.
