What's New in Oracle Integration 25.02 by Niall Commiskey New Banner in OIC Showing Instance Type If you often switch between your OIC development, test, and production instances, it's sometimes not easy to know which instance you're currently in. You can open the About box and check there, but that doesn't include the shape information (Production / Development). With release 25.02, this information will be surfaced in a banner on your OIC pages. The format will be instance name (shape). Now you know exactly where you are at all times. Automation Core 25.02 brings a host of new features; so, a great start to the new year. The big ticket item is the general availability of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in OIC projects. However, there are many other value-added features coming with this release. First, a quick overview of RPA. Welcome to Oracle Robotic Process Automation (RPA)! RPA is now generally available (GA) with the 25.02 release of Oracle Integration. RPA There have been many blog posts already about OIC RPA. For those neophytes out there, it includes the following components: • RPA Design Time - Where you define what your robots need to do (for example, open a browser window, log in to Fusion ERP, and get customer account details using the ID passed to you). • RPA Native Action - Allows your integration to call an RPA flow. Here we can pass the account ID to the robot. • RPA Agent(s) - This is the runtime component. When invoked from the integration, it will open the browser window, log in to Fusion ERP, and do the necessary steps. • RPA Observability - Monitoring robot flows is fully integrated with OIC project observability.

How to Debug Design-Time errors in the Rapid Adapter Builder by Madhav Poosarla As part of our ongoing RAB blog series, this post focuses on the design-time debugging capabilities for adapters built using the Rapid Adapter Builder (RAB). In today’s dynamic development landscape, the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues is crucial for maintaining productivity and efficiency. With this in mind, design-time debugging has been introduced as a self-service feature, enabling RAB developers to address their debugging needs independently. This feature allows developers to examine the behavior of their adapter configurations before deployment, catching potential issues early and ensuring more reliable integrations. In this blog, we provide a step-by-step guide to leverage this powerful debugging capability. What is Design-Time Debugging? Design-time debugging is a process that allows developers to troubleshoot and fix issues in their code (ADD) during the design phase. In the context of RAB adapters, this feature helps RAB developers to identify issues caused by JQ expressions and provides insights into the data on which the expressions are applied. Assume you receive the following error while configuring the Adapter Endpoint Configuration Wizard for the adapter that you have developed.
Oracle Integration File Server REST API by Niall Commiskey The File Server REST API provides rich functionality for monitoring and managing the OIC File Server. There are some slight differences in its use compared to the Integration factory (out of the box) API. For example, use of the management APIs requires the OIC ServiceAdministrator role. The linked article introduces the File Server REST API and provides the steps to get you productive with the API very quickly.
Step by Step process to create custom adapter | Oracle Integration by Ankur Jain Have you ever needed an adapter for your application but couldn’t find one that is ready-made? With Oracle’s Rapid Adapter Builder, you don’t have to wait or rely on complex coding. This tool lets anyone—whether you’re a customer, partner, or developer—create custom adapters for any application that uses RESTful APIs. Before diving into how you can create a custom adapter using Rapid Adapter Builder, take a moment to explore the series of articles listed below to gain a deeper understanding of what Rapid Adapter Builder offers: 1. Understanding of Rapid Adapter Builder (RAB) 2. Process of Building Adapter using Rapid Adapter Builder (RAB) 3. Understanding of Adapter Document Definition (ADD) Now, look at the following video for step by step process of building and registering the custom adapter using Rapid Adapter Builder (RAB) using Oracle Integration.
OIC - Tracing/Logging by Niall Commiskey Introduction In this post I will bring clarity to what is traced when in OIC. I will also discuss the broader area of OIC logging and give some recommendations. I will use the following integration for demoing what is traced. This, of course, depends on the trace level you select - • Production • Audit • Debug Here is my simple integration -
OCI Monitoring API for OIC Service Metrics by Niall Commiskey Introduction OCI provides a rich set of Service Metrics for OIC. You can check them out on the OCI page for your OIC instance - This post doesn't discuss the individual metrics. Check out another post of mine for details on each of these. A second, more recent post, discusses the new consumption metrics. You can check it out here. What this post does cover is using the OCI Monitoring api to retrieve OIC Service Metrics. This api is documented here. Essentially, there are 2 endpoints for OCI Monitoring - my region is phoenix so here are my 2 - https://telemetry-ingestion.us-phoenix-1.oraclecloud.com and https://telemetry.us-phoenix-1.oraclecloud.com The latter is the one I use for retrieving data, the former for ingesting data. Oracle make it very easy to check out these apis, all I needed to do was download the oci collection and environment from postman -
