You are here: EDQ Director User Interface > Project Browser

Project Browser

The Project Browser allows you to browse an OEDQ server, and the projects contained in it. Click on each item below for more information:

Note that you can copy most items in the Project Browser to new projects, or other OEDQ servers, by dragging and dropping the item, or by using Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V).

Right-click on a blank area of the Project Browser to connect to a new OEDQ server, or to open a package file.

Project Browser Object States

Objects in the Project Browser may appear with different overlay icons depending on their state. A green 'Play' icon indicates the object is running, an amber 'Stop' icon indicates that execution of the object was canceled, and a red 'Warning' icon indicates that execution of the object resulted in an error.

These states are illustrated for a Process as follows:

Normal

Running

Canceled

Errored

For deployments of OEDQ where many users are frequently editing projects and running jobs, it is also possible to view the lock status of objects, in order to avoid attempts to open them if they are locked. To enable this option, go to Edit - Preferences, and select the option to Show lock status on tree icons.

There are two types of lock. A downwards-pointing red triangle indicates that the object is locked and cannot be opened (most likely because it is open for editing by another user). A blue dot indicates that the object is read-only (most likely because it is currently being used in a job and cannot be edited in order to preserve the logic of the job).

The lock states are illustrated as follows:

Locked (the object cannot be viewed)

Read-only (the object can be viewed, but not edited)
