Oracle Hardware Take Back Programs

As a responsible producer of hardware products, Oracle offers various take back programs to allow our customers and suppliers to return excess used products or materials. These programs help protect the environment and provide valuable services to our customers. Effective May 5, 2014, all returns are managed via the Oracle Returns Management System (ORMS).

Stay Connected:
  • Oracle programs follow industry best practices and are compliant with local law
  • Oracle directly audits its recyclers to better ensure compliance, and actively drives continuous improvement since laws continue to change
  • Oracle tracks and reports our reuse, recycling, and landfill results, as well as the details of our recycling program
  • There is no charge to the customer for pick up, transport, or recycling
  • Trade-in discounts on the purchase of new hardware, or financial credit if there is reuse potential, may be available
  • For select systems we offer de-installation support at no charge

Oracle's Take Back Programs

Oracle will help you to dispose of and recycle your excess/used Oracle branded products in an environmentally responsible manner. Oracle applies the Reuse, Reclaim, Recycle (RRR) strategy as best practice. There is no charge to the customer for transportation and recycling.

Take Back Program Definitions:

  • eWaste: Customer returns program for retired Oracle branded products.
  • UAP: Upgrade Advantage Program; offers trade in discounts toward new Oracle systems when returning qualified used product.
  • SRC: System Return for Credit; based on Oracle's need for spare parts, financial credit may be available for customer's returning retired product. (Please inquire with your Oracle Account Rep.)
  • E&O: Excess and Obsolete; material from external suppliers and internal manufacturing operations.
  • Internal: Oracle branded product returned from Internal Oracle Labs and Data centers.
  • RTR: Return to Reman; products or material for remanufacturing.

If you encounter difficulties in entering a return request in the Oracle Returns Management System, please email your contact information, country and a description of the issue encountered to UAP Returns (for UAP and SRC returns only) or to Oracle Returns Group (for all other return types), and a Take Back coordinator in your region will respond to provide assistance.
