Business Challenges

WideLabs is a Brazilian artificial intelligence (AI) startup that develops custom generative AI solutions to help individuals, institutions, and companies across diverse industries overcome complex challenges.

Founded in 2020, the company was born with the goal of creating a conversational language model (LLM) in Brazilian Portuguese, on par with the largest in the world. To achieve this, they required a robust and flexible cloud infrastructure capable of supporting their technology and ensuring data security.

WideLabs wanted its generative AI to run 100% within Brazil, and Oracle met this requirement with two local data centers, both powered by clean energy.

Why WideLabs Chose Oracle

WideLabs chose Oracle as a technology partner due to Oracle's recognized expertise, credibility in security, and for protecting the cloud infrastructure of Brazilian elections and having the CIA among its clients.

The decision was also based on the strength of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), its ability to support WideLabs' operations, and the scalability of its processing infrastructure, ensuring that the company's generative AI could meet the demands of clients of any size. Another key factor was sovereignty: WideLabs wanted its AI to operate entirely within Brazilian territory, and Oracle met this requirement with two Tier 3 data centers in Brazil, which guarantee high reliability and minimal service interruptions. These data centers are also powered by clean energy.

To ensure high performance in large-scale AI training, the infrastructure also features H100 GPUs, critical for processing large volumes of data quickly and efficiently, perfectly aligning with the project's concept.

Results

WideLabs relied on OCI's cloud infrastructure to develop their conversational LLM in Brazilian Portuguese, Amazônia AI. It also allowed the company to join the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, increasing the visibility of their business and technology.

WideLabs now enjoys a direct connection with several companies already using Oracle Cloud, while also benefiting from its more than 3,000 sales representatives, who present and offer the company's solution to new customers. This has given WideLabs a significant competitive advantage.

With Oracle's support, they gained scale and expanded the reach of their technology — currently, most of WideLabs' contracts come from clients introduced by Oracle. Also, the company can offer its generative AI solution directly on OCI clients' cloud infrastructure. This creates significant legal and business security, as they can maintain an extremely strategic solution for the client 100% within their own cloud infrastructure.

Due to the flexibility, scalability, and availability of OCI's machines — hosted in Tier 3 data centers nationwide and equipped with H-100 GPUs — WideLabs is also able to serve clients of varying sizes and data processing needs in Brazil and Latin America. It's no coincidence that they now compete with large international companies on equal terms.

The startup, which had only five employees at the beginning of 2024, quickly transformed into a company with over 50 employees, consolidating their position as one of the leading generative AI companies in Latin America, with revenue expected to be 98% higher in 2025 than in 2024. One of the most recent developments in this transformation is Amazônia 360, an evolution of Amazônia AI. Launched in 2025 with a focus on the corporate market, the new platform arrives as Brazil's first sovereign AI PaaS (Platform as a Service), contributing to data management and decision-making in public and private organizations.

The solution allows companies to leverage their own AI for data curation, deepening strategic insights, and generating insights from cross-referencing data. Another highlight is the increase in productivity and results, thanks to the automation of repetitive tasks, freeing up teams to focus on more strategic aspects of the business.
