Zahran Holding Streamlines Over 100 Projects and Improves Decision Making with Oracle Cloud

Zahran Holding Company is a diversified investment conglomerate with a wide collection of subsidiary companies in industries including maintenance and operation, construction and contracting, travel and tourism, financial and real estate investment, and home appliances. Zahran Operations & Maintenance is the group’s flagship company, providing services predominantly for the government sector in Saudi Arabia. Previously, using standalone, on-premises applications with limited support and reporting capabilities, the company realized that it needed a single, integrated platform to unify its business operations and enhance project performance.

Challenges
  • Consolidate all financial, procurement, and project management activities from more than 100 operations and maintenance projects to improve planning, budget control, and management reporting
  • Improve decision making by providing senior managers with accurate and timely information across all group business activities as well as on specific projects such as electrical, mechanical, or water works for government entities
  • Simplify human resources (HR) and payroll for 30,000 employees working across a wide range of companies and regions
  • Automate project support across finance, procurement, and HR to minimize errors, reduce labor-intensive tasks, and enhance productivity
  • Reduce the time and cost needed to support and maintain siloed, on-premises applications and ensure availability for hundreds of business users
Results

  • Enhanced strategic group decision making by gaining the ability to rapidly consolidate reports across different companies operating in different industries
  • Enabled faster and better operational decisions thanks to improved project monitoring on intuitive dashboards with Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Cloud
  • Increased HR productivity and efficiency by automating processes for more than 30,000 employees on a single cloud—which is fully compliant with strict Saudi Arabian labor laws and provides HR staff and managers with instant access to archived employee documents
  • Improved project budget controls by using Oracle PPM Cloud to capture and allocate accurate costs and revenue for all ongoing government operations and maintenance projects
  • Streamlined procurement for material requisitions across more than 100 projects in 6 regions by deploying Oracle Procurement Cloud for 500 users—minimizing approval time and ensuring that all project timetables can be met
  • Enhanced supplier management across dozens of public-sector operations projects using Oracle Procurement Cloud—significantly reducing errors, accelerating issue resolution, and improving vendor communication and relations
  • Simplified IT administration by moving from standalone on-premises applications to a fully integrated cloud—eliminating the need to manage and maintain a data center, while ensuring that all business applications and any necessary support are always available

We selected Oracle over SAP and Infor because of its superior application availability, stability, integration, and continuous enhancement. Also, Oracle is a leading and highly trusted name across all our group’s industries and provides a wealth of resources in terms of training and support.
