The University of Worcester moves to Oracle ERP Cloud

University makes a step change in finance and operational capabilities with the adoption of Oracle ERP Cloud and Namos Solutions

London, UK—09 May 2019

The University of Worcester today announced it will be moving its core finance functions to Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud. The move will allow the finance department to support the University’s wider growth by allowing the team to work more quickly, and access reliable and accurate data faster.

With a student population of nearly 11,000 students, the University of Worcester has been one of the UK’s fastest growing universities in recent times. It was recently named number one in the UK and 26th globally for Quality Education, according to the globally respected Times Higher Education World University rankings.

To ensure that its business systems are supporting its growth, the University will adopt Oracle ERP Cloud and Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Cloud. Oracle’s market leading solutions will allow the finance team to increase productivity, lower costs and improve controls, while also providing the agility needed to outperform in an evolving higher education landscape.

“We’re absolutely committed to ensuring that our students and staff have the very best learning and working experience while they are at the University of Worcester,” said Paul Guest, principal project manager, University of Worcester. “A cornerstone of this commitment is having robust IT systems that help us work in smarter and faster ways. Moving to the cloud will allow us to do this, and ultimately help us to continue to grow as an organisation.”

“The University of Worcester is a prime example of how an educational institution can make use of cloud technologies to support growth and innovation,” said Debbie Green, vice president of Applications, Oracle UK. “With Oracle ERP Cloud, the University will be able to effectively leverage the data it holds and work in a more efficient way, allowing it to really focus on growth and the curriculum that it provides to students.”

The solution will be implemented by Namos Solutions, a Platinum level member Cloud Excellence Implementer (CEI) of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). Namos Solutions will provide functional and technical support to the University as well as taking over responsibility for the delivery. Furthermore, the university will benefit from reduced operational complexity, having awarded Namos with a 5-year managed service contract, providing the university with a smarter way to manage their IT systems.

Richard Eltham, chief technology officer, Namos Solutions, said “We are extremely excited to be chosen as a key partner on the University of Worcester’s strategic journey and look forward to providing peace of mind and our continued support to the team.”
