Notices and Disclaimers

You MUST allow electrical and cooling headroom for unforeseen circumstances, component upgrades, and increased computational loads. Please allow for worst-case power conditions. Actual power consumption will vary from the sample workload used in the power calculator. These include, but are not limited to, the factors below. Each of these factors may cause significant differences in power consumption:

  • Actual workload and its fluctuations
  • Ambient temperature
  • Cooling patterns
  • Excessive inlet temperature
  • Humidity
  • Operating systems features
  • Power management settings

Server Power estimates are per specification with appropriate derating applied for the purposes of representing practical expected power for Max and Typical applications. In general, specification based power calculations are at 90% of Max Rating for Max Power and 75% of Max Rating for Typical Power. Some Rack components are per spec and others are per measured power at 25C ambient. System power can vary depending upon hardware/software configurations and environmental conditions. For precise results, actual measurements based upon the exact hardware/software/environmental conditions are recommended.
