After a short pause since our last monthly newsletter in April, we are excited to reconnect with you in a new format — going forward, the MySQL Newsletter will be published quarterly, bringing you the most important updates, technical releases, community highlights, events, and innovations from across the MySQL ecosystem.

This edition is packed with exciting news, including the release of MySQL 9.7 LTS, major community initiatives, upcoming events, webinars, and technical deep dives from MySQL experts and contributors around the world.

MySQL 9.7 LTS is now available

And the Community is at the center of what comes next!

With the release of MySQL 9.7 LTS, MySQL establishes its next long-term support release line while expanding capabilities across both Community and Enterprise editions. This release reflects a broader shift toward greater transparency, earlier access to features, and stronger collaboration with the MySQL community.
Alongside the release, new initiatives such as Public Discussions and the MySQL Contributor Summit are creating new ways for users and contributors to actively shape the future of MySQL.
