OpenELA Publishes Enterprise Linux Sources Compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.5
In August 2023, the Open Enterprise Linux Association (OpenELA) was established as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit by leaders from CIQ, Oracle, and SUSE. Its mission is to ensure global access to buildable Entreprise Linux source code, offering transparency, and security to the Enterprise Linux community. This initiative is particularly significant in light of the CentOS end-of-life and recent restrictions on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) source code.

On November 14, 2024, OpenELA released compatible Enterprise Linux sources just one day after the launch of RHEL 9.5 by Red Hat. The v9.5 repositories are now accessible via OpenELA's GitHub Repositories.
