Innovation Management

Send Notification for Ideas, Requirements, Concepts, Proposals and Portfolios

Use the Send Notification action on ideas, requirements, concepts, proposals, and portfolios, to send an FYI notification with a personalized message to stakeholders. Stakeholders can view the notifications from the notification bell icon.

Update Name and Description from Proposal View

Modify the proposal name and description from within the proposal view.  New values are automatically written to the equivalent concept.

Create Requirement Specifications or Ideas Through Groovy Scripting

Leverage Application Composer to execute groovy scripting from the Actions menu and automatically create a new requirement specification, idea, or any other Application Composer enabled object. You can pass across the Name and Type values from the existing object to the new object.

Record Export of Requirements PDF or Trace Report in History Table

Capture the export record of a requirements PDF or trace report. You can see who performed the export and when, in the audit trail of the requirements specification.

Hide or Reorder Actions on Action Menu of Requirements Specifications

Use layouts in Application Composer to hide or reorder the standard actions in the Actions menu of a requirements specification.

Manage Idea Teams Using a REST Service

Use the Ideas REST API to add a team to an idea. You can add or delete users, and get one or all users (team members).

Manage Relationships for Requirements Specifications

Restrict the selection in the Add Relationships dialog to object relationships that a user is authorized to access through either a Manage or Review privilege.

Product Development

Automatically Provide Access to Creators and Assignees of Change Orders

Ensure that the creator and the assignee of a change order are automatically given access to it. If you choose to secure the change order by adding other users in the Security tab, the creator and assignee are automatically added there.

Capture Reassignment and Delegation Actions in Change History

Maintaining product change history is required across many industries to meet compliance standards.  With ths update, you can capture the details of the reassignment and delegation actions taken by an approver, as well as to whom and when the approver responsibility was given.

Compare Different Revisions of the Same Item Structure with Transactional Analytics

Compare different revisions, current and previous, of an item structure with an Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) report.

Gain More Control Over Changes You Own

Give change analysts or change owners additional control over the changes they own. With this update, your change analysts can reassign, delegate, and withdraw notifications from the worklist. An analyst can also use the Terminate Workflow action to revert the change order to a previous Open status, then modify or add approvers, and use the Restart Workflow action to resubmit the change for approval.

Find Items on a Change Order with QBE Search for Affected Objects

Simplify item search when you have a large number of affected objects on your change order. You can now use a Query By Example (QBE) to filter affected objects in the Affected Objects tab of a change order.

Include Affected Object Descriptive Flexfields When Creating a Change Order from a Change Request

Include affected object descriptive flexfields along with the affected objects when you create a change order from a change request.  You can now use a simple check box selection to define what information you want to copy over from the change request to the new change order.

Manage Relationships Between Change Orders and Change Requests Using REST Services

Create, read, update or delete relationships between your change orders and change requests through REST services.

Publish Items for Item Structure and Where-Used Analyses Directly from Item Page or Item Search Page

You can now use a Publish for Analysis action from within the item page and select items for structure or where-used subject areas from the search page. This helps to speed up the data availability in OTBI.

See Item Approval Status in Edit Item Page

View the approval status of an item in the Edit Item page. Based upon the status, you can now easily keep track of an item that is ready to enter the new item request (NIR) process, for example, when it is promoted to a prototype lifecycle phase type.

Set Maximum Decimal Digits for Number Attributes

Use additional configuration capabilities in attribute setup to set the maximum decimal digits for operational attributes that are of type Number. If the number provided by the user is greater than the configured value, the value is automatically truncated.

Import Redlines for All Structure Changes Migrated Through Import Maps

Import all structure change redlines with your initial import of item structures. Any subsequent changes that are imported also show as redlines.

Sort Search Results to Find Change Orders Faster

Sort the results in the Manage Change Orders search results table by ascending or descending order to locate your change orders quickly.

Update Multi-Row Extended Flexfield Attributes Without Creating an Engineering Change Order

Define a multi-row extended flexfield (EFF) attribute as change controlled or non change-controlled. If you define the attribute group as change controlled, you can edit the corresponding attributes only in the change order context. If you define the attribute group as non-change-controlled, you can edit the attributes either in the change order context or directly in the Product Development item page.

View Scheduled Process Output in Affected Objects Table

View the process IDs of your scheduled processes in the Affected Objects table. You can review the output files to gain visibility into the status of the changes. The process ID hyperlink is active for the first 72 hours so that you can navigate directly to the output log file. After this period, the IDs become read-only; you can still navigate to the Scheduled Processes page and view the output.

Modify Approvers List in Change Orders Submitted for Approval

Unlock change orders and change requests to modify the list of approvers when mandatory approvers are no longer available, or for any other reason. You can now terminate an approval workflow after a change order or a change request is submitted for approval, and then restart it after modifying approvers.

Add Items to Change Orders and Structures Faster Using Additional Clipboard Functionality

Copy items directly from your favorites infotile or from your change impact analysis table to your clipboard so that you can place the items on a change order later.  You can also copy items from the item grade table.  For example, you can copy parts with lifecycle phase mismatches or unreleased items and add these to change orders to take action on those parts that have a negative impact on your overall item structure readiness.

Product Hub

View Scheduled Process Output in Affected Objects Table

View the process IDs of all your scheduled processes in the Affected Objects table. You can review the output files to gain visibility into the status of the changes.  The process ID hyperlink is active for the first 72 hours so that you can navigate directly to the output log file. After this period, the IDs become read-only; you can still navigate to the Scheduled Processes page and view the output.

Sequence Flexfield Attribute Groups in New Item Request

Sequence your flexfield attribute groups within the definition task of your New Item Request based on the configuration in the item class workflow details.

Support Cancellation of Commercial Change Order Lines

Enable the cancellation of commercial change order lines in statuses prior to completion status.  You can cancel affected object line items that are not completed at the line item level in the Common Change Management Interface.

Leverage Blending and Synchronizing Item Data from Supplier Sources During Import

Leverage the enhanced process of blending and synchronizing item data while importing data from various supplier spoke systems. Use additional controls to define the attribute group ownership based on supplier spoke systems within blending rules. If an existing attribute value is null, you can control whether the attribute value will be overwritten or retained when you import new values from different supplier spoke systems.

Capture Reassignment and Delegation Actions in Change History

Maintaining product change history is required across many industries to meet compliance standards.  You can now capture reassignment and delegation actions taken by an approver, to whom the approval responsibility was delegated, and when the approver responsibility was given. This is available in Oracle Product Hub Cloud only in the simplified user interface.

Modify Approvers List in Change Orders Submitted for Approval

Unlock change orders and change requests to modify the list of approvers when mandatory approvers are no longer available or for other reasons. You can now terminate an approval workflow after a change order is submitted for approval, and then restart it after modifying approvers.

Manage New Item Requests Using REST Services

Use a public REST API to create and update New Item Requests (NIR). You can update NIR header attributes, update item attributes, add line items, remove line items, and add attachments.

View Trading Partner Item Descriptive Flexfields Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence

View Trading Partner Item descriptive flexfields (DFFs) using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI).  You can view your approved manufacturer list for the descriptive flexfield attribute values using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence.

View Currently Effective Approved Manufacturer List Using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence

View the currently effective Approved Manufacturer List (AML) for your items using Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI).  Use the added columns to create filters to view your Approved Manufacturer List (AML) for the currently effective revision or all approved manufacturers for your items.

Leverage Publication Framework Improvements

Publish item category hierarchies as a part of the payload for item category assignments to support integration with external applications. You can easily access and view the item's category assignment in relation to the catalog-category hierarchy. In your publication payload, you can include the item's spoke-system reference information. You can also view publication rule error messages and sub-process logs to quickly locate and troubleshoot errors.

Disseminate Item Relationship Data Changes to External Systems by Leveraging Oracle Integration Cloud

Disseminate item-relationship data changes to external systems in real-time by leveraging the prebuilt adapters of Oracle Integration Cloud. Use the prebuilt Oracle ERP Cloud adapter to subscribe to the Item Relationship Business Event.

Compare Different Revisions of the Same Item Structure with Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence

Compare different revisions of an item structure with an Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) report.  You can compare current and past revisions of an item structure.

Select Decimal Precision for Item Attributes

Select a decimal precision for numeric item-operational attributes. The selected precision controls the number of decimal digits that are used to store the value of these attributes.

Quality Management

Configure Object Number for Quality Issues and Quality Actions

Configure how the object number is generated for each type of quality issue or action. You can enable a user to type in a number manually, or automatially generate the next number in the sequence.

Create Quality Issues and Quality Actions Through Groovy Scripting

Leverage Application Composer to execute groovy scripting from the Actions menu and automatically create new quality issue or action objects from another Application Composer-enabled object. You can pass across the Name and Type values from the existing object to the new object.

Delete a Quality Issue or Quality Action in Draft Status

Delete quality issues and quality actions (with the exception of manufacturing production exceptions and inspection nonconformances) while they are in Draft status.

Send Notification for Quality Issues and Quality Actions to Improve Collaboration

Use the Send Notification action for quality issues and quality actions to send an FYI notification with a personalized message to stakeholders. Stakeholders can view the notifications from the Notification (bell) icon.

Use Application Composer Attributes to Define Quality Issues and Actions

Extend the definition of quality issues and quality actions with additional date, text, and number extensible attributes in Application Composer.

Use Advanced Search to Add Users in Quality Issue or Quality Action Workflows

Quickly assign workflow approvers for quality issues and actions using the Advanced Search feature. Apart from standard search operators such as Starts With, Ends With, Equals, Contains, and so on, you can use additional fields such as Email, Email Address ID, or Name, to pick approvers.
