Innovation Management

See Meaningful Names Within the Actions List in Application Composer

See meaningful, self-explanatory action names within the Actions list in Application Composer, when you design objects such as ideas, requirement specifications, and proposals.

Product Development

View Item Class on Item Structure Tab and Structure Reports

See item class information for each item with the new Class column in the Structure tab. You can also see this information while running structure reports.

Import Initial Modifications of Items with a Change Order That's Not Revision Controlled

Import the initial change of an item with a change order that's not revision controlled using file-based data import (FBDI).  You can now use a change order that's not revision controlled as the change type link to an item's initial modification, as long as no revision change has occurred for the item.

Enable Suppliers to Create and Edit Change Requests in the Supplier Portal

Grant suppliers secured access to create and edit engineering change requests from the View Items and View Changes pages in Oracle Supplier Portal Cloud.

Product Hub

View Non-Reciprocal Related Item Relationships in UI

View all the applicable From Items, including non-reciprocal relationships, in the Derived Related Items table on the Edit Item page.  You can view reciprocal, non-reciprocal, or both type of relationships in the Derived Related Items table.

View Additional Attributes in UI For Related Item Relationships

View additional attributes of the To Item and From Item relationships in the Related Items table on the Edit Item page. The additional attributes include: Primary UOM, Item Class, Lifecycle Phase, Approval Status, and Item Status. These additional attributes are hidden by default in the table.

Leverage Consistent Item Search Across Product Management

Leverage a consistent item search experience when using the Manage Items task across Product Development and Product Information Management work areas.

View Additional Attributes in Item Publication for Related Item Relationship

View additional attributes for the To Item and From Item of the related item relationship in your item publication output. The additional attributes include Item Description, Primary UOM, Item Class, Lifecycle Phase, Approval Status, and Item Status. You can also view the additional attributes in the Item Relationship SOAP Service.

Receive Non-Reciprocal Related Item Relationships in Publication Payload

Receive non-reciprocal related item relationships in your publication payload. Previously, you could publish only the reciprocal related item relationships. Now, you can let your external systems have a full view of an item's relationships.

Leverage New Attribute to Configure Asset Lifecycle Management

Use the Enable IoT attribute to configure Asset Lifecycle Management. You can access this attribute on the Edit Item page in the Product Information Management work area.

NOTE: This feature has a dependency on another feature that will be completed in update 20A.

Search Items Using Relationship Criteria

You can now search items using additional relationship criteria. You can access the criteria from the Tasks panel drawer keyword search, the Manage Items search, and the item picker in the Create Item, Create from Copy tasks. The item picker provides an auto-suggest enabled item LOV field and supports item data security.

Save Items Directly When No Matching Items Are Found

Save items directly when the data quality check does not find any matching or duplicate items. If the data quality check does not find any matching items, it directly saves the item without opening the data quality dialog box.

Reference Context User in Item Rule Expressions

Use the context user attribute in item rules to create efficient rules.  This allows you to tailor item rule processes, such as validation rules, assignment rules, and change order rules, based on the context user.

Monitor New Item Request Cycle Time by Status in OTBI

Monitor your new item request cycle times by status in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI).  Using the New Item Request Approvals Cycle Time subject area, your change analysts can closely monitor the age of a status within all your new item requests not yet completed.

Integrate and Extend Product Hub Using REST Services

Manage Item Templates Using a REST Service

Use a REST API to create, copy, update, delete, and query an item template or multiple item templates.  You can now systematically create multiple item templates and update specific item attributes values, item classes, or organizations for one or multiple item templates.

Query Item Catalogs Using a REST Service

Use a REST API to query item catalogs.

Query Item Categories Using a REST Service

Use a REST API to query item categories.

Manage Item Category Assignments Using a REST Service

Use a REST API to query items associated with a catalog category.

Upload Attachments Using the Product Uploads REST Service

Use the Product Uploads REST API to upload attachments along with the data file.

Product Development & Product Hub Common Features

Retain Context of Change While Viewing Item Details

When you review the affected objects of a change order in table view, you can click on any item and see its details within the context of that change. This action does not open a new tab anymore.

Capture Date, Time, and Time Zone in Change History

Track the date and time a user takes action on your change, along with the user's time zone information.

Search and Access Item Attachments in OTBI

Search for and access item-level attachments in OTBI (Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence).  Search by item or by the attachment's file name, file type, or file category, and get attachments specific to an item revision from the OTBI report.

Improve Change Order Performance and Eliminate Stuck Changes

Address change order workflow issues in real time with error messages that help you prevent or resolve potential issues. With this update, you can also avoid locks when two changes are approved within seconds of each other. You can also cancel change orders in any status, and prevent inactive users from being added to a change.

Refresh Change Order View to See Updates

Use the Refresh button on any change tab to update your change order view.  You don’t need to leave a change order page and then return to see the updates made.

Manage Change Attachments Using REST Services

Use REST services to add, update, or delete attachments of change orders that are in Draft, Open, and Interim Approval status. You must ensure that the Allow Updates option is checked in the change order type setup.

Promote Change Order to Complete Status if Final Change Line Is Canceled

Automatically promote a change order in the Approval or Scheduled status to Complete status if the final change line is canceled.  All other change lines must be canceled or completed in order to automatically promote to Completed status. You can activate or deactivate this functionality by change order type.

Calculate Total Component Quantity for Your Work Definition Based on Your Yield Quantity

Calculate the total component quantity needed for your work definition based on your yield quantity. The yield quantity calculation has been revised to determine yield quantity consistently across Oracle Product Management Cloud.

View Past Structure Revisions Based on the Effective End Date and Time of a Revision

View past structure revisions based on the effective end date and time of a revision.  Views of the item structure now display past revisions more accurately.

Define the Number of Structure Levels to Make Common

Define the number of levels to common when you create new item structures based on an existing structure.  You can choose the structure levels that should be made common, in the Create Item Structures from Common dialog, either from the Structure tab (for one organization at a time) or the Manage Item Mass Changes page, Create Item Structures from Common (for multiple organizations).

Fast Track the Creation of Your New Item Requests

Minimize the number of clicks and fast track the creation of your new item requests by automatically filling in new item request details and bypassing multiple screens.

NOTE: This feature was also made available in a monthly update of 19C.

Provide Intelligent Security Access When Creating New Structures from Existing Structures

Enable users who have security access to the top-level item in a structure to make the existing structure common, and to create items in the target child organization. Remove access restrictions for such users so that they can create items in target organizations without setting up access individually for each child item and organization.

Leverage Additional Change Header Attributes in Change Order Rules

Leverage additional change order header attributes in change order rules. For example, you can add the change name in your change order rule.

Move Change Lines from a Change Order

Use the Move Change Lines feature to resolve duplicate entries of an affected object in a change order. You can multiselect two or more change lines of the same affected object in one change order and move them to another change order in a single action. However, if the affected object already exists in the target change order, the action isn't allowed.

Monitor Change Order Cycle Time by Status in OTBI

Monitor the cycle time of your change order approvals in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence.  With this capability, your Change Analysts can closely monitor the age of change orders that are in Approval status, ensuring that approvals are obtained in a timely manner. In addition, you can review the approval cycle time of completed change orders by type for process improvements.

Quality Management

See Meaningful Names Within the Actions List in Application Composer

See meaningful, self-explanatory action names within the Actions list in Application Composer when you design quality issue and action objects.

Assign User Roles as Mandatory or Optional Workflow Approvers

Assign user roles as mandatory or optional approvers to quality object workflows. When you submit a quality issue or quality action for approval, each user role is automatically expanded to show the full list of approvers assigned to that role.

Prevent Deletion of Quality Issue or Quality Action Types That Are in Use

Prevent the deletion of quality issue or action object types that are already in use with tighter checks across all issues and actions.  If you attempt to delete a type that is already in use, an error message lets you know that it can’t be deleted.

Remove Approve and Reject Buttons on Approval of a Quality Issue or Action

Remove the Approve and Reject buttons from the user interface as soon as the approval process is complete and the quality issue or quality action reaches the submission stage. You don't have to reopen the page for the buttons to be removed.

View Name, User Name, and Email When You Search for Users

View additional columns such as Name, User Name, and Email in the search results when you add users to the Security tab or as Approvers to a workflow for quality issues and actions. When you search for a role, the role code is also visible in the search results.

Enable Inspections for Maintenance Work Orders

Enable your maintenance work orders to perform inspections. You can use the inspection results to assess the quality of your asset items.

Integrate And Extend Product Genealogy Capabilities Using REST Services

Manage Genealogy Objects Using a REST Service

Use the Genealogy Objects REST service to create, update, and read genealogy object instances and transactions.

Manage Genealogy Relationships Using a REST Service

Use the Genealogy Relationships REST service to create, update, and read genealogy relationships.
