The Comprobante Fiscal Digital por Internet (CFDI) reporting now includes the CFDI_CODE which is updated as part of the existing Load Geographies for Mexico process. This process updates the user-created CFDI_CODE geography lookup with the Mexican state codes required for CFDI.
The introduction of the CFDI geography code improves the accuracy of CFDI reporting.
Steps to Enable
You must create the CFDI_CODE in geography lookups.
The steps are:
- In the Setup and Maintenance work area, click the Tasks pane and select Search.
- On the Search page, search for and select the Manage Geography Lookups task.
- On the Manage Geography Lookups page, click HZ_GEO_IDENTIFIER_SUBTYPE.
- In the Lookup Codes region, select the New icon and add these information:
- Lookup Code: CFDI_CODE
- Enabled: Checked
- State Date: 01/01/1951
- Meaning and Description: Mexico CFDI Geography Code
- Tag: C
5. Save your work.
After creating the CFDI_CODE lookup type, submit the flow, Run Load Geographies for Mexico. The Mexico CFDI Geography Code will be created for the 32 states.

Enable Task Completion in Journeys Only After Task Is Viewed
You can now streamline the completion of tasks in the Journeys pages as the Done button for a task is enabled only after users access the task at least once.
A user can mark the task as Done only if they have clicked these links in the task:
- Go to application task in an Application task
- Go to website in an External URL task
- Go to website in an I-9 Verification task
- Go to website in a DocuSign task
- See document in a Native Electronic Signature task
- See document in a Report task
Use this feature to streamline task completion.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
The behavior of the Done button is applicable only when the task is accessed from the Journeys task page. This doesn't prevent users from marking the task as complete from the task notification.
Improve Worker LOV Search with Profile Setting
The profile option PER_LOV_SEARCH_WORKERS_EXCLUDE_BUSINESS_TITLE is set to 'Y' out-of-the-box to improve the performance of the Workers LOV (List of Values) search. This is being done because most users aren't searching for people based on their Business Title. If you would like to continue for your users to search on the Business Title, you can change the profile option to 'N'. Once the profile option is set to 'Y', the Business Title will still be displayed in the results, but the search will only occur on the person's Name, Work Email, and Person Number.
This feature improves performance and user experience.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Additional Application Tasks When Configuring Checklist Templates
When configuring checklist tasks of the type Application task, you can now use the enhanced list of quick actions. These quick actions are based on the selected task performer.
Easier access to relevant quick actions based on the task performer.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- If you want the user to navigate to the responsive pages and not the classic pages make sure you have the required profile option enabled.
- You need to ensure that the quick action is enabled under the Tools > Structures menu via a sandbox.
- From 21B onwards, you need to have a person record associated to the user who is configuring the application tasks in a checklist template. For example, the quick actions listed below will not appear in the Application Task LoV for a user who doesn’t have an associated person record:
- Activities
- Additional Assignment Info
- Contact Info
- Document Records
- Employment Info
- Family and Emergency Contacts
- Identification Info
- My Compensation
- My Profile
- Personal Details
- Preferences

Display Approval Details After Approval Completion
If you are an employee, contingent worker, or HR professional, you can now view the current and proposed changes in the Change Personal Information and Person External Identifiers approval notifications after the transaction is approved. Earlier, when the approval transaction was completed, the details of the transaction weren't displayed when you open the approval notification.
This feature improves user experience with details displayed in approval notifications.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
This enhancement will only apply to approval notifications that are created and approved after the upgrade to this release. Approval notifications created prior to this release will continue to not show the details once the approval has been completed.
New Job Set for Person Name Format Changes
You can now simplify the process of running multiple required jobs after you change the person name format with the new job set, Apply Name Formats to Person Names, Keywords and LDAP. The new job set includes these jobs:
- Apply Name Formats to Person Names
- Send Personal Data for Multiple Users to LDAP
- Update Search Person Keywords
When you run the Apply Name Formats to Person Names, Keywords and LDAP job set, it's executed in 2 steps.
- The Apply Name Formats to Person Names is executed first.
- The Update Search Person Keywords and Send Personal Data for Multiple Users to LDAP jobs are run in parallel.
How You Run the Job Set
- Navigate to Tools > Scheduled Processes.
- Click Schedule a Process.
- Select Jobset and search for Apply Name Formats to Person Names, Keywords and LDAP.
- Click OK
- Select each job and enter the parameters.
- Click OK
This feature helps increase user productivity.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- When the Apply Name Formats to Person Names job is executed successfully but if either the Update Search Person Keywords or the Send Personal Data for Multiple Users to LDAP jobs fails in the second step, then the job set and the child job is marked as error and the jobs that are successful will be implemented. Failed jobs won't be implemented.
- When the job set Apply Name Formats to Person Names, Keywords and LDAP is running, you can't schedule or run the Apply Name Formats to Person Names, Send Personal Data for Multiple Users to LDAP, and Update Search Person Keywords jobs independently.
Role Information
You need to be granted the Person Configuration duty rule to access the job set.
The addition of the ability to audit viewing of sensitive data in the HCM Responsive pages enhances the existing extensive auditing ability of various business objects.
Read access to the following sensitive attributes can be audited:
- National Identifier Number
- Passport Number
- Driver License Number
- Personal Home Address
- Personal Email Address
- Personal Telephone Number
- Account Number
- Citizenship Number
- Visa Number, Work Permit and/or Residency Number Additional Person Info
You can use this information for compliance and monitoring of access to sensitive data from your browser.

Personalize Employment Quick Actions under My Team and My Client Groups Independent of Each Other
We have given users the ability to hide employment quick actions under the My Team tab while retaining the employment actions on the responsive Employment Info page when accessed through the My Client Groups tab.
In this example, the Add Assignment quick action is hidden from the My Team tab using the Structure configuration option in the Navigator.
Independently hide the employment quick actions under My Team and My Client Groups tabs using the Structure configuration option in the Navigator.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- To remove the quick action for a particular role, we recommend that you remove the aggregate privilege. For example, if the requirement is that the line manager should not be able to access the Add Assignment quick action, then the corresponding aggregate privilege must be removed from the custom line manager role. Only in scenarios where you can't remove the aggregate privilege because of some specific business requirement, the Structure configuration option in the Navigator can be used for hiding the required quick action.
Business Title Copied During Add Assignment and Local and Global Transfer
We have enhanced the user experience by automatically copying the business title from the source assignment when you add an assignment or do a global transfer or a global temporary assignment.
You don’t need to manually enter the business title when you add an assignment or do a global transfer or a global temporary assignment.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- The business title for the newly created assignment will be defaulted from the source assignment in the Add Assignment (permanent and temporary), Global Transfer, and Global Temporary Assignment flows.
- In the Add Assignment flow, if the user doesn't change the defaulted business title, then –<number> will be appended after the business title at the time of submit.. For example, if the source assignment business title is Sales Manager, and the user didn't make any changes to the business title for the new assignment, then the new business title will be Sales Manager -2 after the user submits the transaction. However, if the business title already contains a hyphen (-), for example, Sales - Manager, then the number won’t be appended after the business title.

Document Records Plug-In Section for Responsive Employment Flows
You can now leverage the ability to add document records specific to an employment business process by enabling the Document Records plug-in section. The document records you add can be accessed from the person's document records pages.
You can configure and enable the Document Records plug-in these employment flows:
- Add Assignment
- Add Contingent Worker
- Add Pending Worker
- Add a Nonworker
- Change Assignment
- Change Location
- Change Manager
- Change Working Hours
- Create Work Relationship
- Direct Reports
- Edit Pending Worker
- Hire an Employee
- Local and Global Transfer
- Promote
- Resignation
- Termination
- Transfer
- Work Relationship
You can manage the document records for a worker as part of your other employment transactions, making it easier and faster.
Steps to Enable
- The Document Records plug-in section is hidden out-of-the-box. To enable this section in the responsive flow, you must use HCM Experience Design Studio. For setup information about HCM Responsive User Experience, see the following white paper on My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com): HCM Responsive User Experience Setup Information (Doc ID 2399671.1).
- Configure the HCM Flow - Document Type Mapping:
- In Setup and Maintenance, go to the Manage Enterprise HCM Information task.
- Click Edit.
- Navigate to HCM Flow and Document Type Mapping section.
- Click Add (+) icon.
- Select the HCM flow and the document type.
- Repeat the previous 2 steps to configure any additional mapping.
- Click Submit and then Yes in the warning message that displays.
- Click OK and then Done
Tips And Considerations
- By default, this plug-in is not enabled. You need to enable it in Transaction Design Studio.
- By default, all document types that are part of the user’s document type security profile will appear in the Document Type LoV when creating a document record in an employment flow.
NOTE: For flows such as Add contingent worker, Add a nonworker, Add pending worker, Hire an employee, if the signed in user as manage access to a document type, then it will display those document types in the LoV.
- There's no date-effective mapping of the Document Type and HCM Flow. The mapping as of the date of the transaction will be used.
- You can attach new document records when adding a pending worker. However, these document records won't be displayed when you edit the pending worker or convert the pending worker. Nonetheless, you will be able to add more document records as part of Edit Pending Worker and Convert Pending Worker flows.
- You can attach new document records during Resignation and Termination flows. However, these document records won't be displayed when you view or correct the termination.
- You can’t have different document types mapped for different variations of the Local and Global Transfer flow i.e. Transfer, Global Transfer, and Global Temporary Assignment will all support the same document types.
- When the employment transaction is deleted (e.g. Transfer is deleted), the document records created as part of that transaction will still be retained. They will not be deleted automatically.
- Existing document records for the person will not be displayed in this section on the Employment flow pages.
- The document records section will not be available in the read-only Employment Info page. You must use the Document Records quick action to view all existing document records for the worker.
- The employment flow's approval process will be applicable, if the document records are added in a Hire flow, once the hire is approved, the document records will be moved to the new hire's Document Records.
- Document records approval flow won't be applicable for the plug-in section.
- Document records attributes can’t be added to the employment flow's approval payload when configuring the approval rule for the employment flow.
- The BIP data models for employment flow approval notifications have been updated to include the document records data set.
- However, the BIP templates for employment flow approval notifications don’t contain the document records section out-of-the-box. You need to modify the RTF templates to include the Document Records information by using the newly defined data set in the corresponding data model.
- Attachments in notifications will only display the name and won't be downloadable. An approver can click on Edit to view and download the attachments.
- Employment transaction's effective date will work as the Publish Date for the document records created as part of the employment transaction.
- If document type configuration is modified such that it makes the pending document records data invalid, then the employment transaction, which is pending approval and contains such document records, will fail.

Last Updated By and Last Updated Date Fields Added to Employment Info Page
We have improved the user experience by adding the Last Updated By and Last Updated Date fields in the Employment History and Future Actions sections of the responsive Employment Info page.
This feature offers improved data visibility in the responsive Employment Info page with the addition of the Last Updated By and Last Updated Date fields.
Steps to Enable
The Last Updated By and Last Updated Date fields are hidden out-of-the-box on the responsive Employment Info user interface. You must use the HCM Experience Design Studio to enable these fields.

Switch the Primary Assignment Indicator in Responsive Change Assignment Flow
We have now improved the ability of users to switch the primary assignment indicator in the responsive Change Assignment flow.
You can now change the indicator for the primary assignment from the responsive Change Assignment user interface.
Steps to Enable
The Primary Assignment field is hidden out-of-the-box on the responsive Change Assignment user interface. You must use the HCM Experience Design Studio to enable this field.
Tips And Considerations
-
You can modify the primary indicator for the assignment by using only the Change Assignment user interface.
-
You can't correct the primary assignment indicator, you can only update the indicator with a date effective update by using the responsive Change Assignment user interface.
-
You can make a nonprimary assignment as primary by changing the primary indicator. However, you can't make a primary assignment as nonprimary by changing the primary indicator.
-
You can change the primary indicator value from No to Yes, but after having changed the value, you can't revert back to the No value. If you want to revert to the earlier value, you need to cancel and restart the Change Assignment flow.
-
You can't change the primary assignment indicator when future employment changes exist for the selected nonprimary assignment or the current primary assignment.
-
You can't update the primary indicator of an assignment when you perform the End Assignment and End Temporary Assignment actions.
-
You can't update the primary indicator of an inactive assignment.

Control Defaulting of Business Title Based on Position or Job
We have now given users control to default the business title from the position or job in responsive employment flows using a new profile option.
You can default the business title on responsive employment flows using one of these three configuration options:
-
Defaulting based on job and retaining user overridden value: This is the current application behavior where the business title is populated based on the worker's job and the title changes automatically whenever there is a job change on the worker's assignment. However, if the user has manually updated the business title on the worker's assignment, then the user entered changes are retained even when there is a job change on the worker's assignment.
-
Defaulting based on job: The business title is populated based on the worker's job and the title changes automatically whenever there is a job change on the worker's assignment. Even if the user has manually updated the business title on the worker's assignment, the user entered changes are removed and the business title is again defaulted to the job value whenever there is a job change on the worker's assignment.
-
Defaulting based on position: The business title is populated based on the position on the worker's assignment and the title changes automatically whenever there is a position change on the worker's assignment. Even if the user has manually updated the business title on the worker's assignment, the user entered changes are removed and the business title is again defaulted to the position value whenever there is a position change on the worker's assignment.
You can now have more flexibility to decide whether the position or job is defaulted in the business title in responsive employment flows.
Steps to Enable
By default, the profile option is set to R which means that the current application behavior of retaining the user changes will be followed.
Field | Value |
---|---|
Profile Option Code | ORA_PER_EMPL_DEFAULT_BUSINESS_TITLE_FROM |
This table describes the profile option values:
Serial Number | Profile Value | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Retain User Changes |
The application defaults the business title to job name whenever there is a change in job on the worker's assignment. However, if the user has manually updated the business title on the worker's assignment, then the user entered changes are retained even when there is a change in job on the worker's assignment. |
2 | Automatically Update Based on Job Change |
The application defaults the business title to job name whenever there is a change in job on the worker's assignment. |
3 | Automatically Update Based on Position Change |
The application defaults the business title to position name whenever there is a change in position on the worker's assignment. |
To set the profile option to the value you want, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
-
Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
-
Search for the ORA_PER_EMPL_DEFAULT_BUSINESS_TITLE_FROM profile option code and select the profile option in the search results.
-
In the Profile Values area, select the value you want in the Profile Value field.
-
Click Save and Close.
Tips And Considerations
-
The ORA_PER_EMPL_DFLT_BUS_TITLE profile option applies only to the responsive pages.
-
The business title for the Mass Legal Employer Change flow will be defaulted from the source assignment irrespective of the profile option.
-
The business title for the Convert Pending Worker flows (Convert, Quick Convert, and ESS process) will be defaulted from the source pending worker assignment irrespective of the profile option.
This table shows the application behavior in the responsive employment flows based on the value configured for the profile option:
Responsive Employment Flow | Behavior for Profile Option: Automatically Update Based on Position Change |
Behavior for Profile Option: Automatically Update Based on Job Change |
Behavior for Profile Option: Retain User Changes |
---|---|---|---|
Add flows, such as Hire an Employee. |

Control Defaulting of Effective Date in Employment Flows
We have now given users the ability to stop the defaulting of the effective date in these responsive employment flows using a new profile option:
- Add Assignment
- Add Contingent Worker
- Add Nonworker
- Add Pending Worker
- Change Assignment
- Change Location
- Change Manager
- Change Working Hours
- Create Work Relationship
- Direct Reports
- Hire an Employee
- Local and Global Transfer
- Promote
- Termination
- Transfer
You can now change the default behavior, which is to default the effective date in responsive employment flows using a new profile option.
Steps to Enable
By default, the profile option is set to Y which means the effective date will be defaulted in employment flows (current behavior). To stop the defaulting of the effective date in responsive employment flows, you must set the profile option to N.
Profile Option Code |
Profile Display Name | Default Profile Value |
---|---|---|
ORA_PER_EMPL_DEFAULT_EFFECTIVE_DATE |
Employment Transaction Date Set by Default |
Y |
To stop the defaulting of the effective date in employment flows, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area.
-
Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
-
Search for the ORA_PER_EMPL_DEFAULT_EFFECTIVE_DATE profile option code and select the profile option in the search results.
-
In the Profile Values area, select N in the Profile Value field.
-
Click Save and Close.
Tips And Considerations
-
The ORA_PER_EMPL_DEFAULT_EFFECTIVE_DATE profile option applies only to the responsive pages mentioned in the description.
-
If you have selected not to default the effective date in the responsive employment flows, you need to first enter the effective date in the selected flow. The other fields will be enabled for changes only after you enter the effective date.
- For Termination and Resignation flows, the notification date is considered as the effective date for the purpose of this enhancement. Therefore, if the ORA_PER_EMPL_DEFAULT_EFFECTIVE_DATE profile option is set to N, the notification date will default as blank value and the user needs to enter the notification date before they can proceed with the flow.
- You must not use Page Composer or HCM Experience Design Studio to hide the effective date field when the profile option is set to N because you won't be able to enter this date which is a mandatory field for employment flows.
- Even with the profile option value set to N, the behavior of the offer conversion flows will be same as earlier, which is the field value of the start date in the When and Why section will be populated with the value entered during job offer creation.
- Even with the profile option value set to N, the behavior of the Convert Pending Worker flow will be same as earlier, which is the field value of the start date in the When and Why section will be populated with the proposed start date value entered during pending worker creation.

Source Assignment Attributes Added To Add Assignment Approval Payload
We have enhanced your ability to configure and route approvals using source assignment attributes while adding a new assignment. This capability allows you to configure rule conditions on the worker’s current assignment attributes and also use the approval chain of the worker’s current line manager.
NOTE: This change is applicable only for the Add Assignment and Add Temporary Assignment responsive flows.
You can configure the approval rules based on source assignment attributes and route the approval to the current line manager.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Compensation Zone Attributes Added in Employment Notifications' Data Model
We have enhanced the ability of users to add compensation zone attributes using the enhanced approval data model. You can include the attributes in employment notifications by customizing the RTF template for these employment flows which contain a salary section:
- Add Contingent Worker
- Add Pending Worker
- Add Non Worker
- Hire an Employee
- Change Working Hours
- Change Location
- Promote
- Transfer
- Change Legal Employer
- Add Assignment
- Change Assignment
- Local and Global Transfer
- Create Work Relationship
A new Geo Zone Details data set is added which includes compensation zone attributes in the employment data model in BI Publisher.
You can include compensation zone attributes in employment notifications which contain the salary section.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Retain Indicators for Synchronize from Position and Calculate FTE and Headcount Automatically During Employment Conversions
We have improved the ability of users to retain the Synchronize from Position and Calculate FTE and Headcount Automatically indicators in these employment conversion processes:
-
Pending Worker to Employee or Contingent Worker conversion
- Convert pending worker (page conversion)
- Convert pending worker (ESS process)
- Quick convert
-
Oracle Recruiting Offer to Worker conversion
- Move to HR
- Other employment transactions, such as Global Transfer and Add Assignment initiated from the offer assignment.
-
If you select the No value for the Synchronize from Position indicator in the offer, then during the move to HR, position synchronization will not be invoked when creating the new assignment or updating the existing assignment. The assignment creation or update, in this case, will be based upon only the Offer data.
-
If you select the No value for the Synchronize from Position indicator for the pending worker, then during the convert pending worker process, position synchronization will not be invoked when creating the new assignment. The assignment creation, in this case, will be based upon only the pending worker data.
Users can select whether they want to synchronize from the position and automatically calculate FTE and headcount during an employment conversion process.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Key Resources
- Automatic calculation of work measures, see the Work Measures topic in the Using Global Human Resources guide.

Read Only Access for Work Relationship Page
We have improved the user experience by now providing an option to view the responsive work relationship page as read only.
The work relationship page with view only access is displayed as follows:
-
When a user having only View Work Relationship privilege clicks the Work Relationship quick action, the View Work Relationship read only page is displayed.
-
The questionnaire page is not shown.
-
The Start Date and Primary Info and Work Relationship Info sections are expanded and all other sections are collapsed by default.
-
The read only sections have no Edit button.
-
The universal panel has no Submit button.
-
The universal panel title is named as View Work Relationship in the read only version and as Edit Work Relationship in the editable version.
-
The fields and sections in the read only work relationship page will retain the customizations done for the Edit Work Relationship page using HCM Experience Design Studio.
-
If the user has either Edit or Manage Work Relationship privilege, the page will always be editable.
You have an option to view the responsive work relationship page in read only mode.
Steps to Enable

Person Number Added on Convert and Edit Pending Worker Pages
The Person Number field is added to the Personal Details section on the Edit and Convert Pending Worker responsive pages. You can modify this field when the Person Number Generation Method option is set to Manual on the Manage Enterprise HCM Information page. By default, this field is visible but you can also show or hide it using the Transaction Design Studio.
This enhancement improves the user experience while converting or editing pending workers.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- You can hide the Person Number field in the Convert and Edit Pending Worker pages using the Create Work Relationship and Edit Pending Worker actions respectively in the Transaction Design Studio. This attribute is listed in the Available Attributes section in the Personal Details data source.
-
When you modify the person number, the assignment number and payroll relationship number will also change because the latter are associated with the person number.

Preview Document Record Attachments Without Having To Download
You now have the ability to quickly preview various attachment file formats without having to download them to a local folder. You can preview both Reference Info attachments and document record attachments.
Reduces necessity to download attachments to the local device for viewing.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- You can preview Reference Info attachments of a document type when creating or editing document records.
- You can preview document record attachments when viewing the document record.
- An initiator can't preview a document record's recent attachments when it's pending approval.
- An approver can't preview attached files in the notification. However, they can download the attachments from the notification.
- The file types supported for preview are - PDF, DOC, DOCX, DOCM, DOT, RTF, TXT, ODT, ODS, ODP, XLS, XLSX, XLSM, XLSB, CSV, DAT, PNG, JPG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, TIF, PPT, PPTX, PPTM.
- Preview of attached files is supported only on the desktop.
Flexibility for Initiator to Edit Document Record Submitted for Approval
Initiators of a document record transaction now have the flexibility to edit a submitted document record instead of withdrawing it.
This feature avoids duplication of effort in recreating and submitting the withdrawn document record.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- Initiators can use the Edit button to edit the document record which is pending approval.
- When the initiator submits the edited document record, the existing transaction is withdrawn and a new transaction is submitted. This new transaction follows the configured approval rule.
- For document types used in generating letters, if the initiator edits the document record then the changed data is updated in the generated letter.
Add Worker Identification Information in the Page Header of Document Records and Document Delivery Preferences Flows
We have improved usability of the page header in document record and document delivery preference flows by enabling worker identification information, such as person number, assignment number, and business title. If you want to show more than one person identifier in the page header, you can concatenate the identifiers using the expression builder.
This screenshot shows an example where the employee name, assignment number and assignment name are enabled in the page header.
The page header gives more information about the worker, in addition to the worker name.
Steps to Enable
This table shows the binding parameters and their corresponding expression values. You can use these values to display worker identification information in the page header.
Binding Parameter | Expression |
---|---|
Display Name |
#{bindings.DisplayName.inputValue} |
Person Number |
#{bindings.PersonNumber.inputValue} |
Assignment Number |
#{bindings.AssignmentNumber.inputValue} |
Assignment Name (Business Title) |
#{bindings.AssignmentName.inputValue} |
Tips And Considerations
- All the four attributes (display name, person number, assignment number, and business title) if enabled, will appear in a single line in the universal header.
- For Document Delivery Preferences, it will always show the Primary Assignment information, even if a secondary assignment is selected.
- Truncation of universal panel with … displays in mobile pages when more than 2 attributes are present.
- The attributes aren't available in the "See how’s it going" page, that is, the attributes won't be displayed on the BIP page.
Key Resources

Enable Completion of Document Record Transactions When Initiator is Terminated
We have enhanced the document record transaction approval process to enable completion of transactions that previously used to error out or get stuck if the initiator of the transaction was terminated. Such transactions are now processed and committed to the database on approval from the final approver.
Prevent transactions from getting stuck.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- In an initiator terminated scenario, an automatic switch from the transaction approval service user context to the application identity user (APPID) enables the transaction service to be run with elevated privileges.
- The transaction approval service is run with application identity which is FUSION_APPS_HCM_SOA_APPID.
- Irrespective of the fact whether the transaction initiator is terminated or active, all transactions are searchable and displayed in the Transaction Console.
New Document Records Approval Payload to Retrieve Requestor Information
You can now use the new document record payload Requestor's Assignment Including Inactive when you create an approval rule based on requestor attributes. The payload gets the requestor's current assignment details irrespective of whether the assignment is active, suspended, or inactive.
A transaction submitted by an inactive worker will still get approved if this payload is used for requestor's attributes.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Autocomplete Rules for Employment Business Objects
You can now use employment business objects to define the autocomplete rules according to your business needs. Some of the common business use cases are included as delivered rules in the employment business objects. You can use the rule as is, or use it as a template to create your own autocomplete rules.
Details of the employment business objects are as follows:
- When and Why
The When and Why business object contains information related to the date, name, and reason for an action based on the PER_ACTION_OCCURRENCES table. You can use this business object to create autocomplete rules. For example, you can create rules for these scenarios:

- Date validation for a date in the future
- Date validation for a specific day of the week
- Date validation for hard coded dates, such as the 1st and 16th day of the month
- Date validation by role
Impacted Responsive Flows
The Why and Why business object can be a part of the When and Why section or use the whole section in any employment action or flow. These actions are supported by the When and Why business object for the Autocomplete feature:
- Create Offer
- Edit Offer
- Change Salary
- Add Contingent Worker
- Add Non Worker
- Add Pending Worker
- Additional Assignment Info
- Cancel Work Relationship
- Change Assignment
- Change Legal Employer
- Change Location
- Change Manager
- Change Salary
- Change Working Hours
- Create Work Relationship
- Edit Work Relationship
- Termination
- Employment Contracts
- Employment Information
- Hire an Employee
- Local and Global Transfer
- Manage Eligible Jobs
- Manage Seniority Dates
- Promote
- Salary History
- Transfer
Delivered Rules
These are the predefined rules for the When and Why business object:
-
Validate whether global transfers and promotions occur on any date other than the 1st or 16th of a future month.
-
Restrict promotions or transfers to be effective on any date other than the start of a future payroll cycle.
- Worker Assignment
The Worker Assignment business object contains employee, contingent worker, applicants, and benefits assignments' information based on the PER_ALL_ASSIGNMENTS_M table.
Impacted Responsive Flows
Based on actions, such as Assignment Details, Employment Details, Offer Details, Location, Manager, Working Hours, Contract Information, Transfer, and Promote, the sections within these responsive flows which invoke the Work Assignment business object (Entry, Tab-out, and Exit) may be named differently:
- Add Assignment
- Add Contingent Worker
- Add Non Worker
- Add Pending Worker
- Additional Assignment Info
- Cancel Work Relationship
- Change Assignment
- Create Job Offer
- Change Legal Employer
- Change Location
- Change Manager
- Change Working Hours
- Create Work Relationship
- Edit Job Offer
- Edit Work Relationship
- Employment Contracts
- Employment Information
- Hire an Employee
- Local and Global Transfer
- Manage Eligible Jobs
- Manage Seniority Dates

Delivered Rules
- Default work at home based on the hire date.
-
Default the probation period based on the assignment category.
-
Validate that there is no change in location during promotion.
-
Validate the department based on the business unit.
In addition to these changes for the Worker Assignment business object, you can now get the grade step for a specific assignment using the new EMP_Groovy_GradeStepName and EMP_Groovy_GradeStepId HCM Params while creating autocomplete rules.
Note: The People Group ID attribute can't be used for defaulting or validation.
- Worker Work Relationship
The Worker Work Relationship business object contains information about a person's work relationships based on the PER_PERIODS_OF_SERVICE table. You can use this business object to create autocomplete rules. For example, you can create rules for these scenarios:
- Default the termination date based on the notification date.
- Restrict termination of employees who are on leave of absence (LOA) or don’t allow a termination to be submitted if the employee has their stability registered at an extensible flexfield (EFF).
Impacted Responsive Flows
In most actions, other than termination, the region where the Worker Work Relationship business object is invoked is called the Work Relationship.
- Cancel Work Relationship
- Change Legal Employer
- Create Work Relationship
- Edit Work Relationship
- Local and Global Transfer
- Promote
- Transfer
- Termination
Delivered Rules
-
Validate whether the terminated employee is recommended for rehire based on the termination action reason.
-
Validate the termination based on the assignment status.
- Work Term Contract
The Work Term Contract business object contains details of a contract that is associated with an employment agreement based on the PER_CONTRACTS_F table.
Impacted Responsive Flows
- Add Assignment
- Change Legal Employer
- Employment Contracts
- Employment Information
- Local and Global Transfer
Delivered Rules
- Validate Contract Extension Number
Example: An employee in a United States legal employer can have a maximum of 3 temporary contracts with the same legal employer (initial contract + 2 extensions). After the expiry of the temporary contract, they must move to a permanent contract.
When the autocomplete rule is activated and the user tries to create more than 3 contract extensions for the same legal employer, an error message will be displayed and the contract extension will not be permitted.
This feature gives autonomy and control to customers to extend their existing applications by creating their own rules without relying on Oracle Development to implement it.
Steps to Enable

You can change the customer defined context to filter the job values.
Another example is where you can default or validate the Succession Job field based on the value selected in the job using the Job_ID EFF parameter.
VALID GRADES FOR JOBS AND POSITIONS
You can define autocomplete rules by using the valid grades for jobs and positions in assignments (on the Worker Assignment business object).
You can also define autocomplete rules on position business object using valid grades of the position and job. For example, you can validate if there are more than 5 valid grades added to a job, or validate if Job Level value is provided when Management Level is 'Executive'
DEFAULT OR VALIDATE PARENT POSITION BASED ON POSITION HIERARCHY
You can define autocomplete rules for validating if the parent position is valid for a specific position.
Another example is where you can default the Assignment Category based on the parent position.
ACTION REASON AND EFFECTIVE DATE ADDED TO HCM PARAMS

ORACLE HAS DECOMMISSIONED THE HCM CLASSIC SIMPLIFIED USER INTERFACE IN UPDATE 20B
The new and redesigned HCM Responsive User Experience has been available and promoted as our standard since Update 18B. If you are still using the older HCM Classic Simplified User Interface, you must begin transitioning to the HCM Responsive User Experience, as these older pages will no longer be supported.
For information on the Responsive features, see the HCM Common What's New for Update 18B and 18C. The redesigned features are under a heading for Redesigned User Experience and have groupings by product. Features that have come out from 19A onwards will be in their respective solutions: HCM Common, Global Human Resources, Talent Management, Workforce Management and Workforce Rewards What's News. The feature will be under their product headings. You can open one these solutions such as Workforce Rewards and you will see tabs on the left to easily let you open the different releases to view the responsive features.
For consolidated information on generic setup information you can refer to My Oracle Support Document ID 2399671.1 - HCM Responsive User Experience Setup Information.
Highlights of New User Interface:
We’ve taken the employee and manager self-service pages to the next level by redesigning them to look and behave the same on desktop and mobile devices. We’ve also changed the look and feel of the pages to provide a better experience for end users.
Pages and messages look more modern and use simpler, more conversational language so that you can more easily read and understand content across all devices. The pages are clutter-free and clean and display only those fields that are required to complete the task. You can personalize the pages and add more fields that are hidden by default. For most self-service tasks, you’re asked what you want to do, and the task is broken down into a series of steps based on your choice.

Controlled Availability Features
Features under this heading are under the Controlled Availability Program. The Controlled Availability Program is a program for early testing and feedback of features, before they are included into the product line. You must request and be accepted into the Controlled Availability Programs to use these features. Please see the What's New for more information on being part of these programs.

Autoprovision Areas of Responsibility (AORs)
You can now automatically mass assign or remove representatives' areas of responsibilities (AOR) based on user-defined template criteria.
AUTOPROVISION RESPONSIBILITIES
You can autoprovision responsibilities using any of these 2 options.
- AOR template row-level actions
- Autoprovision Responsibilities scheduled process from the Scheduled Processes work area
When you schedule the Autoprovision Responsibilities process from the Scheduled Processes work area, you may provide these parameters:
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Purge Inactive and Past End-dated Responsibilities |
If this parameter is selected, all other parameters are ignored and the process will purge any AOR records that are inactive or have an end date in the past, as of the date the process is scheduled. |
UCM Content ID |
Process ID generated when data is loaded using HCM Data Loader (HDL). If you enter a value for this parameter, the process will consider the assignments loaded or updated in the load that match the template criteria and mark them for creating or updating AOR records. In this case, even if you enter a value for the Responsibility Template parameter, it’s ignored. |
Responsibility Template |
AOR template to be considered for autoprovisioning responsibilities. If you don’t select a template, all templates will be considered for autoprovisioning. If you provide a value only for this parameter, the process will identify all assignments that match the template criteria for creating or updating AOR records. In this case, even you enter a value for the Legal Employer, it’s ignored. |
Legal Employer |
Legal employer to be considered for autoprovisioning responsibilities. The process reviews all assignments for the specified legal employer and identifies assignments for which AOR records are to be created or updated. |
HOW ARE RESPONSIBILITIES AUTOPROVISIONED
Let’s look at the basic steps of the autoprovisioning process.
You need to define the assignment criteria by which to autoprovision responsibilities in the AOR template, after which you schedule the Autoprovision Responsibilities process and specify the parameters. When the process is run, all assignment records that match the criteria are processed and this data is stored in the intermediate tables. When you review and confirm (Apply) the data changes, then a back-up of the data changes is taken, in case you want to revert the changes in future. Then, the data from the intermediate tables is overwritten in the actual AOR tables.
Responsibilities can be applied or restored from the quick actions in My Client Groups > Workforce Structures.
You can only apply autoprovision responsibilities when a scheduled process for a template is complete and restore autoprovisioned responsibilities when the output of a scheduled process is applied to a template.
RESPONSIBILITY TEMPLATE OPTIONS
This table summarizes the availability of responsibility template options.
Scenario | Schedule Autoprovision Process Option | Apply Autoprovisioning Option | Restore Autoprovisioning Option |
---|---|---|---|
Template is created | Enabled | Disabled | Disabled |
Template is modified | Enabled | Disabled | Disabled |
Autoprovision Responsibilities process is running on a template | Disabled | Disabled | Disabled |
Autoprovision Responsibilities process is complete for a template | Enabled | Enabled | Disabled |
Autoprovision responsibilities review is completed | Enabled | Disabled | Disabled |
Autoprovision responsibilities apply process is completed | Enabled | Disabled | Enabled |
HOW ARE CRITERIA MATCHED
You can define any of these criteria in the responsibility template based on which AOR will be added or removed.
Criterion | Single or Multiple Value Selection | Supported LOV |
---|---|---|
Business Unit | Multiple | Client-side LOV |
Country | Single | Client-side LOV |
Department | Multiple |
Client-side LOV |
Job | Multiple |
Client-side LOV |
Job Family | Multiple |
Client-side LOV |
Job Function | Single | Select one choice |
Legal Employer | Single | Client-side LOV |
Location | Multiple |
Client-side LOV |
Position | Multiple |
Client-side LOV |
System Person Type | Single | Select one choice |
User Role | Multiple |
Client-side LOV |
The process will use the AND operand if you specify multiple criteria, and will use the OR operand when multiple values of the same criteria are specified.
For example, using the criteria defined in the below screenshot, the process will search for assignments where these conditions are satisfied.
- System Person Type = 'Employee' AND
- Country = 'India' AND
- Legal Employer = 'ARS US Legal Entity' AND
- Department = 'HRSEC Exec Dept' OR Department = 'HRSEC Production Dept'
RESTORING RESPONSIBILITIES
After applying autoprovisioned responsibilities, in case you want to revert the data changes, you can restore the responsibilities to their last previous state. You can either restore responsibilities for a single template or for all templates from the quick action Restore Autoprovisioned Responsibilities in My Client Groups > Workforce Structures.
COPYING A TEMPLATE
When autoprovisioning is enabled and you copy a responsibility template, the criteria is also copied. You can also modify the criteria, if the section is enabled on the questionnaire page.
HOW YOU ENABLE AUTOPROVISIONING FOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
You need to enable the ORA_PER_AOR_AUTO_PROVISION_ENABLED profile option to autoprovision Areas of Responsibilities. Let’s look at the steps to enable the profile option.
- Navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area and search for the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
- Search for the ORA_PER_AOR_AUTO_PROVISION_ENABLED profile option.
- Select the Level as Site.
- Change N to Y for the site level row.
- Click Save and Close.
After changing the profile option value, you need to log out of your current session, and log in again to see the quick actions on the My Client Groups tab.
This feature increases productivity and reduces operation costs.
Steps to Enable
To enable this feature you need to log a Service Request (SR).
Please review and follow the instructions provided in the My Oracle Support document, Fusion Global HR: How to Apply for Autoprovision Areas of Responsibilities Feature Under Controlled Availability (Document ID 2765388.1) to get access.
Tips And Considerations
- Approvals aren’t supported for any autoprovision actions.
- All previously autoprovisioned data (pending to be committed) and data stored for restoring will be deleted when you modify a template (change a value in the Basic Info, Responsibility Scope, or Assign by Criteria sections) and submit the transaction.
- You can restore responsibilities to only the previous state from the last commit.
- When you create a new template, autoprovision responsibilities, preview the data, and apply autoprovisioning, you can't see a previous version to backup on the Restore Autoprovisioned Responsibilities page because there is no previous data of the autoprovisioned responsibilities. In this case, if you restore autoprovisioned responsibilities, the previously applied autoprovisioned responsibilities will be deleted.
- If an autoprovisioned responsibility is reassigned to another user, it's no longer autoprovisioned, but becomes a directly assigned responsibility.
- If the criteria is based on a user's role, the role must be provisioned to that person or user before you run autoprovisioning responsibilities.
Key Resources
- For more information, refer to the Improved Areas of Responsibility User Experience Through Responsibility Templates feature in the 20B Global Human Resources What's New.
Role Information
You need to assign the HCM Application Administrator job role (ORA_HRC_HUMAN_CAPITAL_MANAGEMENT_APPLICATION_ADMINISTRATOR_JOB) to autoprovision and restore responsibilities.
