Partner Installation of StorageTek SL500, SL3000, and SL8500 Modular Library Systems Oracle provides Specialized partners with the methodologies, resources, and tools to deliver their own hardware installation services. Based on Oracle's Enterprise Installation Services (EIS) methodology, installations performed by Specialized partners are recognized by Oracle for the purposes of support and product warranty. Specialization, along with additional installation training, is mandatory for a partner to be recognized as qualified to install the products defined by that specific Specialization. In addition, partners that perform installations are required to accept the Oracle Installation Service Addendum, and report installations to Oracle. Step 1: Become Specialized in the StorageTek Tape Libraries Specialization Step 2: Complete the installation competency criteria for the Tape Libraries you plan to install (SL500 or SL3000/SL8500) Step 3: Accept the Oracle Installation Service Addendum Step 4: Access Oracle Enterprise Installation Standards (EIS) Partner Installation of StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library The StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library can be installed by partners.  Specialization is not required. To become authorized for product installation, partners must have one (1) individual successfully pass the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library Installation Assessment. Supporting training and documentation are available below: StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library Installation (IDO) Guided Learning Path (GLP) StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library Installation Manual User’s Guide Systems Assurance Guide Customer Replaceable Unit Guide StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library Installation Manual * StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library does not require StorageTek Tape Libraries Specialization as a prerequisite for certification to perform installations. Please note that all other StorageTek Tape Libraries do require prior Specialization. More information is available here. New! The StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library is available for Channel Self-Support. This means that a partner authorized to sell the SL150 Tape Library has 2 support options: Sell the product with Oracle Premier Support where Oracle will deliver support to the end user. Sell the product with the Partner’s own support. The Partner with “Self Support” capability will deliver their own support to the customer with its resources and will not pay a support fee to Oracle. StorageTek Tape Libraries Specialization (Qualifying Specialization) *

This Specialization focuses on Oracle’s StorageTek SL500, SL3000, and SL8500 Modular Library Systems, which combine open design with high availability and scalability features to deliver a tape automation environment that minimizes power, space, and operating costs while maintaining world-class service levels. Covering departmental, midrange, and enterprise applications, the Specialization recognizes partners that have demonstrated through testing their firm’s ability to:

• Identify sales opportunities for StorageTek SL500, SL3000, and SL8500 Modular Library Systems
• Position StorageTek SL500, SL3000, and SL8500 Modular Library Systems with their customers
• Configure StorageTek SL500, SL3000, and SL8500 Modular Library Systems

* Please note that the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library does not require StorageTek Tape Libraries Specialization. Storagetek SL150 competency is required for Oracle tape resell rights. Partners with existing resell rights can access the SL150 Sales GLP here and the SL150 Presales GLP here.
