What will we cover
The Data Warehousing Implementation Boot Camp will equip partner implementation personnel with the knowledge and experience to implement data warehouse solutions with the Oracle database. Participants will learn to use the relevant features of the Oracle database for implementing data warehouses, as well as gain a framework for addressing customer-specific implementation issues.
The Data Warehousing Implementation Boot Camp is a five–day live virtual class tailored to educate and the give attendees an understanding of data warehousing concepts and Oracle features used to implement data warehouses. The boot camp will be a combination of lecture and hands-on exercises, where the participants will gain valuable skills in Oracle Data Warehousing technology and implementation best practices.
This boot camp will cover:
- A primer on data warehouse concepts
- Overview of all relevant Oracle database features for data warehousing
- In depth coverage and hands on labs for the following areas:
- Parallel execution
- Partitioning
- Result cache
- OLAP
- Advanced compression
- Introduction to Oracle Warehouse Builder and Oracle Data Integrator
- SQL analytics and data mining
- Review of different data warehouse architectures
- An in-depth overview of Oracle Exadata machine
- Best practices for implementing data warehouses
- Guidelines for producing ROI from your data warehouse project
Upon completion of the boot camp, participants will be able to understand and successfully implement a data warehouse using the full range of Oracle data warehouse capabilities and options
Who should attend
This boot camp is intended for implementation consultants, who require an understanding of data warehouse capabilities as well as implementation skills. Students should come to class already familiar with Oracle database operations, use and administration.
Prerequisites
To ensure a valuable learning experience, participation in this boot camp requires that participants have foundational product knowledge of the Oracle Database. Accordingly, we strongly suggest and may require that participants complete the prerequisite courses and successfully pass the prerequisite assessment test that is mapped into the Oracle Database 11g PreSales Specialist guided learning path.
At a minimum, participants with equivalent skills and background should review the guided learning path and successfully pass the prerequisite assessment test to ensure they possess the background necessary to benefit from participation in the boot camp.
