WebLogic Optimization On Solaris/CMT Implementation Boot Camp
Enablement 2.0 Boot Camps “jump start” your skills by providing hands-on foundational experience to get you started on the path to successful deployment, to get faster ROI, and to adapt more quickly to changes in your business environment.
What will we cover
The WebLogic Server Optimization On Solaris/CMT Boot Camp covers various pillars in the Oracle product and technology offerings – namely WebLogic Application Server 11g, Solaris 10, and Chip Multi-Threading Technology (CMT) Servers. The Boot Camp provides deployment and performance best practices of these Oracle products as well as the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to build out a scalable and efficient application infrastructure.
Examples will be provided to illustrate how best practices apply to actual implementation in the enterprise. The boot camp will encourage open discussion of each topic, and participants are encouraged to bring WebLogic Server related questions drawn from their field experience.
- Plan for deployment of WLS on Solaris and CMT
- Verify and implement proper system configuration parameters for WLS, JVM and Solaris
- Virtualize the deployment environment for flexibility, performance and isolation
- Leverage the key Solaris features, such as Oracle VM for SPARC, Containers, and ZFS, for WLS deployment
- Use built-in tools in Java and Solaris to monitor and manage the performance of WLS, JVM and Solaris
- Apply the methodology to Oracle Fusion Middleware solutions
The boot camp is an instructor led hands-on workshop that is available in two day in-class format.
Note: The duration is intended for general reference. The boot camp instructor may recommend a different approach in rolling the class. Students are required to check the boot camp duration for the scheduled event they are interested in.

There are no prerequisite for this Boot Camp; however, hand-on labs involve WebLogic Server and Solaris. Therefore participants should be familiar with a Java EE Application Server and UNIX command shell. Additionally, participants experienced with WebLogic/Solaris and knowledge of relevant concepts will benefit most from the Boot camp.
