Oracle Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Initiative

Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is a software application delivery model where applications are developed to run over the Internet and are hosted and operated, either by the company that develops the application or through a third party, for use by its customers. Market research (PDF) indicates that the trend is toward a majority of applications being available in a SaaS model within the next three years.

The Oracle SaaS Platform – based on Oracle's mature, proven technology including Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Enterprise Manager – enables companies to offer secure, scalable and customizable on-demand software services to their customers. In addition, on-premise and on-demand solutions can be integrated with Siebel CRM On Demand and with Oracle Applications through the Oracle Application Integration Architecture for Partners Initiative. The Oracle Software-as-a-Service Initiative provides access to information, tools and resources that will help guide partners as they build solutions to be offered in a SaaS model. In addition, partners with SaaS solutions that run on the Oracle SaaS Platform or integrate with Oracle products can apply to join the SaaS Initiative and participate in the ecosystem of Oracle partners offering SaaS solutions, promoting their solutions and leveraging the available tools and resources.
