Oracle Software Tops Independent Benchmark Tests
Oracle Database and Application Server 10g software have produced world record results in a series of independent performance benchmark tests. In the Transaction Processing Performance Council's TPC-C benchmark, Oracle Database 10g exceeded 1.6 million transactions per minute and set a world record for a 32-processor server, thereby earning a place in the coveted Top Ten TPC-C by Performance category.

Oracle Database 10g also achieved world-beating results in the SAP Sales and Distribution Standard Application Benchmark. Running the SAP SD R/3 Enterprise 4.7 workload, Oracle Database10g achieved the leading world record performance result of 21,000 SAP SD Benchmark Users, with an average dialog response time of 1.91 seconds, for a two-tier configuration on a Fujitsu Siemens Computers PRIMEPOWER 2500 server with 128 SPARC64 V processors.

In addition to this, Oracle Application Server 10g also took the honours as the overall performance world record leader for Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) 1.3 application servers in the SpecjAppServer2002 MultipleNode benchmark. Oracle achieved the highest ever score for this benchmark in September 2004, and remained unbeaten by rivals such as IBM and BEA until the benchmark was officially retired in April this year.
