Fujitsu Siemens Computers - VISIT 2004
October 5-7 2004
Messe Augsburg, Augsburger Schwabenhallen, Augsburg, Germany

On the 6th and 7th October 2004, Oracle will participate in Fujitsu Siemens Computers' two-day enterprise computing conference as exhibitor, keynote speaker and Gold Sponsor.

More than 7,000 IT decision makers from about 40 countries are expected to attend VISIT 2004, to learn more about the latest technologies and strategies for effective enterprise computing. This year's focuses are on maximising data centre efficiency, mobilising the workforce for added productivity, and strategies for updating the entire IT infrastructure.

Oracle Executive Vice President for EMEA, Sergio Giacoletto, will address the first of these subjects in a keynote session on Thursday October 7th at 13.00 CET.

Sergio will outline the progress that European enterprises are making towards Grid Computing, a journey that Oracle is tracking closely by means of the Oracle Grid Index [see related news story]. His keynote will highlight the contribution that Grid Computing technologies can make to help European companies lower the cost of computing.

Sergio will also participate in a high-level discussion panel chaired by CNN Europe's business news anchorman Richard Quest. Entitled Looking Ahead - the New Role of IT in the 21st Century, the discussion will also include such industry luminaries as Bernd Bischoff, president and CEO of Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Joe Tucci, president and CEO of EMC Corporation.

Oracle's sponsorship of the event is indicative of the company's close working relationship with Fujitsu Siemens Computers. Oracle Application Server 10g is now fully integrated into FSC's OpenSEAS middleware platform, providing each company's customers with a middleware platform that not only simplifies the control of complex software architectures, but also enables them to incorporate existing applications into modern systems. Both companies will be showcasing the joint platform at their respective booths in the event's Exhibition Hall.
