Tamper-resistant blockchain tables in Oracle Database

Database fraud protection with blockchain technology. Tamper-proof features maintain and safeguard centralized ledgers for financial transactions, chain of custody, legal holds, escrow services, audit logs, and many other use cases.

Features
  • Immutable Tables: Prevents illicit insider changes. Permits insert-only SQL operations, with no updates and other modifications allowed, and restricts deletions.
  • Blockchain Tables: Detects illicit hacker changes. Cryptographically chains new rows to existing rows, which enables verification to detect any deletions or updates bypassing DB.
  • Distributed Table Digest: Detects DB rollbacks or authority ordered illicit changes. Enables users to get a schema owner-signed cryptographic digest of the blockchain table and distribute it through REST API, public blockchain, etc.
  • User Data Signing: Prevents fraud by impersonators. Allows end-users to cryptographically sign the data they insert using their private key that is never passed to the database and have the signed data verified using public key in their X.509 certificate.

Latest OCI Blockchain Platform update enables blockchain interoperability and brings Web3 capabilities to OCI

Mark Rakhmilevich, Senior Director, Blockchain Product Management

In December, we released version 22.4.2 of Oracle Blockchain Platform and Blockchain App Builder. A prominent theme in this release is extending enterprise blockchain with Web3 capabilities and interoperability. The highlights include

  • Ethereum interoperability via the atomic Transactions API, letting you invoke both Blockchain Platform and Ethereum/EVM transactions in a single atomic operation
  • Web3 wallet and decentralized application interoperability via the Fab3 provider for Solidity/EVM smart contracts on Blockchain Platform
  • ERC-1155 support in the Blockchain App Builder tokenization engine, which allows combining FTs and NFTs in a single template and chaincode
  • Enablement of token exchange for Token Taxonomy Framework-based FTs using the built-in liquidity pool facility introduced in the tokenization engine
