VINCI Construction Grands Projets speeds processes by 50% with Oracle

VINCI Construction Grands Projets, based in France, is part of a 100-year lineage. The company designs and builds major civil engineering structures and buildings around the globe, in sectors including transportation, hydraulic, mining infrastructure, energy, oil and gas, and construction.

When it embarked on construction for the National Research Oncology Center, with a design team spread across five different countries, the company needed a platform that would allow project participants and stakeholders to share building information modeling and other data. It also needed to manage cross-organizational processes quickly and securely across borders, languages, and time zones.

VINCI Construction Grands Projets, also an Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management customer, chose Oracle Aconex to support collaboration across the entire project team. Oracle Aconex provides a local language interface and support and helps ensure that the right people have the correct versions of the right documents, which limits miscommunication and lost data.

For VINCI’s project, Oracle Aconex reduced time for workflows and review cycles across team members, who were in five different locations across the world. Multidimensional models were easily shared and marked up from any browser, without needing model authoring software. Document control was automated to ensure that everyone was always working with the current version, no matter where they were located.

The entire project team had access to a secure, cloud-based, construction information and process management platform. Improved access to and input for models in a collaborative building information modeling environment provided better information for faster decision-making and reduced miscommunication and version control issues. The central data environment saved time searching for current and historical project data. All in all, VINCI was able to speed up operational processes by 50%.
