Sofya is an innovative Brazilian startup specializing in precision healthcare, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to reduce the administrative burden on medical professionals and optimize patient care. Sofya's creation was driven by the urgent need to optimize clinical processes and reduce the cognitive burden on healthcare professionals. It's estimated that a physician, on average, needs 26 hours per week to complete all daily protocols, placing enormous pressure on workers. Furthermore, 63% of physicians experience symptoms of burnout, a direct reflection of systemic inefficiency that impacts both the well-being of professionals and the quality of care provided to patients.

Digital bureaucracy consumes about a third of doctors' time and also harms productivity and compromises necessary patient care. Additionally, Oracle's databases enabled the vectorization of over 1 billion medical tokens, which are words or terms extracted from medical texts, such as diseases and treatments. Vectorization transforms the words into numbers, allowing the AI ​​to understand and process information rapidly and accurately. The result was an extremely broad and accurate knowledge base. With a robust infrastructure, Sofya ensured that its AI solutions were not only scalable but also secure, delivering high-quality clinical results backed by reliable medical data.

Results

The partnership with Oracle has led Sofya to achieve significant advances in its operations. One of the key results has been a significant improvement in operational efficiency. Sofya was able to reduce the time spent on digital paperwork from 7 minutes to just 2 minutes per appointment, representing a 71% reduction in the time spent on these tasks.
