Deploying the latest version of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and integrated Oracle components has delivered efficiency to the very heart of our business—the upstream and downstream supply chain and customer relationships that truly differentiate us within the region, building trust and reputation, and driving our business forward.

— Abdelrahman Al Nugrush, CIO, Jordan Petroleum Refinery

The Jordanian Ministry of National Economy first recognized the potential of building a refinery in Jordan in 1952. The Jordan Petroleum Refinery is still the sole provider of all petroleum products for the local market, meeting the demand for energy in an economically, environmentally, socially responsible, and safe manner. It drives the development of many related fields, such as electricity, transportation, and construction, and prevents complete dependence on costly imported petroleum products. The Jordan Petroleum Refinery contributes to the national economy by enhancing foreign currency reserves, providing job opportunities to thousands of Jordanians, and opening doors to new industries. It also serves as a source of skilled labor and well-trained personnel for neighboring Arab refineries.

The Jordan Petroleum Refinery is a vibrant, integrated, and diversified regional energy company admired for its performance, competitiveness, and the quality of its products and services. The company is expanding operations and diversifying its range of activities through different partnerships to broaden its marketing network, while continuing to focus on constant innovation and the enhancement of productivity, quality, and profitability of the business.

Why They Chose Oracle

Jordan Petroleum Refinery’s main line of business is refining and selling bulk petroleum products. The company strongly believes that Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is the most robust and flexible ERP system available to help it increase efficiency by automating sales, transportation, purchasing, and bulk-stock operations in a manner that is highly visible and tightly integrated with all financial processes.

As a petroleum refinery, we have extensive upstream and downstream operations that constitute the core business of the company. After extensive evaluation of ERP solutions offered by Oracle and other vendors, we found that JD Edwards EnterpriseOne’s supply-chain modules offered the best possible technical approach to automating our operations and addressing the complex business requirements frequently encountered in the oil and gas industry.
