KGOC, a longtime user of Oracle on-premises technology and applications, began its journey to the Oracle Cloud with the private Mozon cloud platform. It hosted Oracle Cloud Financials in 2015 and Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management in 2019.

By adopting Oracle Cloud Applications, KGOC automated more than 60 business transactions within its financials, HR, and supply chain operational processes. The agility and scalability provided by Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Cloud HCM allowed the oil company to swiftly transition to remote working during the pandemic, without compromising any business process or commitment to customers, partners, suppliers, or employees.
The unified set of business modules now form the backbone of KGOC’s business growth, including the upcoming Durra gas field, which is under development jointly with Saudi-based Aramco Gulf Operations Company. Oracle Cloud ERP, with its AI-embedded financial solutions, streamlined key finance processes to ensure better budgetary control, sharpen forecasts, and automate routine tasks, including contract management, renewals, and supplier invoicing. Oracle Cloud Financials also allowed KGOC to close its books faster, process supplier invoices seamlessly, control customer billing, reconcile accounts, manage revenue, improve cash flow, and efficiently manage oil and gas assets.
Oracle Cloud Supply Chain Management (SCM) eliminated manual supplier processes by automating purchasing and contract negotiations. Self-service procurement brought agility and cost savings to supplier management, with built-in approval policies and pre-negotiated terms for oil and gas industry-related purchases. Orders and invoices are now automatically routed into Oracle Cloud Financials for processing.
Oracle Cloud HCM simplified HR administration by giving employees self-service options for everyday tasks, such as leave requests, pay slips, and performance management—enabling HR teams to focus on improving employee productivity and creating better welfare programs. Furthermore, for swift monthly payroll reconciliation, KGOC also automated its payroll module, which is fully unified with Oracle Cloud ERP.
With Oracle Cloud intelligent dashboards, KGOC’s management gained real-time views of business unit spend, contract status, head count, payroll, oil and gas export revenue, and other key performance indicators. With a single, centralized source of data accessible anytime, anywhere, the Oracle Cloud platform equipped business teams with a consistent experience and improved decision-making.
Oracle Cloud ERP will also support the company’s adoption of the new International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS 16) that came into effect in 2020. Also, the product will help steer the company through the Value-Added Tax (VAT) system, which will be implemented for the first time in Kuwait in 2023 or 2024.
