Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt (CCHE) has signed a managed technology services agreement with Oracle Health to support the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR). Using Oracle Health solutions and services will help CCHE simplify IT management and enhance clinical and operational efficiencies. These solutions help increase staff productivity and optimize EHR performance, ultimately making it easier for clinicians to use, so they can focus on patient care.
The world’s largest free, comprehensive care pediatric oncology hospital, CCHE has used Oracle Health Foundation EHR since the system became operational in 2009. After embracing digitization and becoming a paperless hospital, CCHE recognized a need to improve the speed and performance of its EHR, easily add new functionality to the solution, and reduce IT management costs. Working with Oracle Health, the hospital plans to enhance its in-house teams’ capability to support and manage upgrades, which enables CCHE’s IT staff to prioritize strategic initiatives and innovation.
“To maintain our focus on providing free care to pediatric oncology patients, we must optimize every technology investment and ensure the tools we provide to clinicians are modern and easy to use,” said Dr. Sherif Abouelnaga, CEO, Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt. “Using the Oracle Health solutions and services, our clinicians and staff will gain faster access to the information they need, so they can spend more time delivering quality patient care.”
The hospital also will gain proactive, around-the-clock maintenance and management of its Oracle Health solution. This will help CCHE limit operational and administrative burdens and optimize overall EHR performance and responsiveness.
“By delivering and managing the solutions that help Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt enhance patient care, improve caregiver experiences, and optimize operations, Oracle Health is making it much easier for the hospital to focus on its mission to fight childhood cancer,” said Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager, Oracle Health and Life Sciences.
