Supplier diversity

Oracle’s commitment to working with small, diverse, high-quality suppliers is an important aspect of our procurement vision. The Oracle Supplier Diversity team endeavours, on a good-faith effort basis, to work with and develop small, minority, and women-owned businesses. The team is always looking for small and diverse suppliers that can deliver creative, high-quality products and services. Ultimately, our goal is to diversify our supplier base by encouraging these small and diverse suppliers to compete for business.


Adherence to the Prompt Payment Code

As a signatory to the Prompt Payment Code, Oracle UK is committed to paying suppliers on time, giving clear guidance to suppliers and encouraging good payment practice. Indeed, a recent Payment Practice Report confirms that Oracle suppliers are paid on average 22 days following receipt of invoice. A dedicated Procure-to-Pay Helpdesk is available to respond to supplier enquiries and Oracle regularly engages with suppliers to ensure adherence to contracts.

Internship Programme

The Oracle UK Internship Programme offers a growing number of students the opportunity to sharpen their skills and find their place in the professional world. Established in 2015, interns typically join Oracle for a year-long internship in our London, Reading or Cambridge offices. Their 12 months with us are filled with opportunities to network, learn new skills, attend training, take part in events, and much more.


Graduates programme

Oracle offers an array of consulting, technology, and design graduate roles to kick-start graduate careers in the industry. Successful candidates work on real projects, with real clients, all whilst being supported to gain as much as possible from the experience.


Return to Work Programme

We hold Return to Work events to help people re-launch their career in Oracle. Offering expert advice and career tips for every stage of a successful transition, from job search, to interview, to back in the boardroom. Attendees are coached by a diverse cross-section of recruiters, managers, and previous returners, who will help them build the essential skills they need to re-join the world of work with confidence and capability.

Oracle is proud to support those who serve. We actively support both the Soldiers’ Charity (Army Benevolent Fund) and Help for Heroes, with major fund-raising events in which our employees regularly participate in large teams and with pro bono technical support. In 2020, Oracle received the Ministry of Defence Employers Recognition Scheme Silver Award.

Career Ready Festival

The Oracle Career Ready Festival helps students and graduates make the transition from college to corporate life, providing them with tips and advice for entering the world of work. Owing to the pandemic restrictions, the most recent Festival featured a highly successful two-day virtual event, filled with expert advice for every stage of the application process. Attendees were also able to learn from our current interns about their journey from student to graduate at Oracle.

Oracle Academy advances computing education to increase knowledge, innovation, skills development, and diversity in technology fields. We engage with thousands of educational institutions and educators in more than 120 countries, helping millions of students become college and career ready.

The Academy provides candidates with a wide range of free teaching resources, including curriculum, classroom learning resources, software, cloud technology, practice environments, and much more.

Generation Oracle

GenO isn’t like other career programmes. We ask GenO’s to bring their ideas, their curiosity and their true self.

GenO looks for new talent from diverse backgrounds. Whilst this includes recent graduates it is also attractive to people from a far wider source; for example those new to the IT industry, changing discipline or career, returners, underrepresented minorities, ex-service and those with disability/neurodiversity.

The programme runs for 9 to 12 months depending on the stream that the GenO’s join, then all GenO’s are expected to transition into an FTE (Full Time Equivalent) role within our core business unit.

Managing cyber security risk

Oracle is the first cloud provider to deliver a dedicated, private dual-region cloud for use by the UK public sector and their authorised partners, fostering the superior management of information and improved service for UK citizens.

Oracle’s dual-region government cloud consists of two separate sites, connected by Oracle Cloud’s private high-speed network backbone. It allows public sector organisations to deploy cloud services in multiple independent regions for disaster recovery, while simultaneously offering hosting and storage of all transactional data in the region.

Designed in collaboration with multiple UK Government and Defence ministries, Oracle’s dual-region adheres to the security principles outlined by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), and is built upon the parameters necessary to store OFFICIAL SENSITIVE data.
