Crystal Sheldon from Java Developer Relations attended the SIGCSE conference to tap into the ideas and research across CS education.
The conference took place in St. Louis this year and always brings together CS educators and researchers across high school and higher education. Many of the sessions covered AI and how to effectively teach and integrate AI into the classroom.
They also explored how students need to be ready to use AI in the workforce. As you can imagine it's quite a balancing act to ensure students are using AI effectively while learning concepts necessary to innovate.
Check this video from our Oracle Interns on how they manage using AI in their schooling as well as in their work. See Learn.java. |

Episode 45 “Announcement - The New Inside Java Podcast” Nicolai Parlog introduces you to the podcast's new structure with two shows under one umbrella: The long-form conversations you know become Ask the Architects episodes and they'll be accompanied by the Inside Java Newscast as a podcast.
Episode 46 “Java's Plans for 2026” [IJN] In 2026, Java keeps evolving: Project Valhalla is gunning for merging its value types preview in the second half of this year; Babylon wants to incubate code reflection; Loom will probably finalize the structured concurrency API; Leyden plans to ship AOT code compilation; and Amber hopes to present JEPs on constant patterns and pattern assignments. And those are just the most progressed features. More are discussed in this episode of the Inside Java Newscast. |
