VEON Supports a Shared Service Centre

Amsterdam-based VEON – a global provider of telecommunications services – provides voice, fixed broadband, data and digital services to customers around the world.

With multiple offices in different countries, VEON struggled to create insight and actionable information quickly and easily. This was made more difficult after new regulations were introduced that meant local sites could no longer change their processes whenever and however they liked.

VEON decided to deploy a shared service centre, but also recognised that this required a single, global solution that integrated ERP and human capital management (HCM).

Oracle Cloud Machine offered Oracle Cloud services in VEON’s existing data centre, meaning the company could comply with regulations more easily.

Telecommunications Company Transitions from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle ERP Cloud

An international telecommunications company has been supporting businesses with connectivity challenges for more than 40 years. This time, however, the organisation needed a helping hand of its own.

Broadcasting 35 DTT channels and 900 FM radio stations, while providing networks for four French mobile phone networks, the company needs to offer new services like connected DTT, video on demand, catch-up TV, web-based media, amongst others.

To achieve this, the company replaced its old Oracle E-Business Suite and removed the need for in-house development. But there was also a need to keep costs down.

That’s exactly why the telecommunications provider opted for Oracle ERP Cloud – a modern, less-expensive, agile solution that provided the flexibility of SaaS pricing over a one-year contract.
