Definitions for the Solaris HCL 'Level' field

In the Detail view of a system or component on the HCL, the row that is labeled Level can have one of the following values:

Certified

Certified system configurations or components have passed testing with the Hardware Certification Test Suite (HCTS), the HCTS test results have passed audit by Oracle, and the entry has been approved by Oracle for listing on the HCL. For subscription information on Oracle Certified systems, please see Oracle Premier Support. For non-Oracle certified please see Solaris Premier Subscription

Reported to Work

Reported to Work system configurations or components have been registered by an end user or developer as "reported to operate with the Oracle Solaris Operating System." This hardware has not necessarily received any formal testing. There are no service offerings available for Reported To Work. If you are interested in an Oracle subscription for Oracle Solaris on a system listed as "Reported to Work", please contact your system vendor about obtaining certification.

Tabs on the HCL pages enable you to select only Certified hardware, or only Reported to Work hardware. See the HCL Overview for more information.

Solaris Ready

Vendors and developers are also encouraged to consider registering their products for the Solaris Ready program. Information about registration and requirements to attain Solaris Ready certification is at Oracle Solaris Ready page.

Oracle provides Oracle Premier Support for Operating Systems for Certified entries or for customers who have an active Solaris Subscription. If you do not have a subscription for Oracle Solaris, please visit the Oracle Premier Support for Operating System page to review the subscriptions available for Oracle and non-Oracle hardware.
