Sandton, Johannesburg —24 October 2019
Oracle today hosted the SA leg of the global Modern Business Forum series in Johannesburg. With 1,100+ cloud applications, Oracle Cloud Applications are the world’s most complete and innovative suite of applications that drive business modernisation
South African decision-makers in various business areas, including Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Supply Chain Management, were equipped with the knowledge of how they can best take advantage of Oracle’s complete and integrated suite of applications, to break down silos, quickly and easily, embrace the latest innovations, and improve user engagement, collaboration, and performance.
“Partnering with customers allows us to tackle their most complex business problems. Business leaders need to ensure they future proof their organisations by re-imagining their current roles in business and Oracle enables that re-imagination,” explained George Ferreira, Senior Sales Director, Applications South Africa & SADC Region. “Data is the new battleground, and intelligent business applications are the new digital weapons; due to their ability to reveal significant insights and drive better decision making.”
Further to announcing application updates, Oracle also announced plans to launch 20 new Oracle Cloud regions by the end of 2020, with South Africa to be included in this global roll-out. The objective is to support South African enterprise customers, and better equip them to harness the power of cloud that enables businesses to run mission critical applications, mixed workloads, OLTP and real time analytics using the most secure, available, and performant database. These geographically distributed data centres will allow customers to deploy production and disaster recovery while meeting regional compliance requirements and ensuring business continuity – a significant step in bringing world-class advancements to the African continent.
“Oracle Cloud Applications are built on Oracle’s foundational cloud platform, uniquely positioning us to serve the innovation needs for our customers. We are excited for the arrival of our datacentres in 2020, helping customers realise their digital transformation journey with ease,” concludes Ferreira.
