OEPは、デザイン、定義、開発、そしてビジネス要件を満たすだけではなく、企業予測で最も高いレベルにも機能する複雑なイベント・プロセッシング・アプリケーションの実装のため、完全な「トップダウン」なソリューションを組織に提供します。ANSI SQL、Java、Spring DM、そしてOSGIを含む業界標準で構成されたOEPは、ソーシング(sourcing)、プロセッシング、そしてパブリッシュする複雑なイベントのためにオープン・アーキテクチャを提供します。そして、標準的なJavaベース・ツールと同様、ビジュアルな開発環境で、ITチームが特別なトレーニングやスキルセット投資といったハードルなしに開発できることをOEPは確実にします。

OEPは、SOA Suite、EDA Suiteのコンポーネントの一つです。
