Oracle Cloud Powers Rangsit University’s Startup Community

As the innovation platform of choice for the Thai private university, Oracle has also partnered with Rangsit University to launch Innovative Startup course this semester

Bangkok, Thailand—November 9, 2018

Rangsit University (RSU) today announced it will leverage Oracle Cloud to champion the RSU Startup Community. Beginning today, members of RSU’s burgeoning Startup Community will be able to use Oracle Cloud Platform and Infrastructure services to bring their ideas to life. A complete new range of courses will also be on offer, helping bridge the gap between real world business requirements and academia.

“At Rangsit University, we want to help our students embrace entrepreneurship and innovation as they are key attributes in today’s digital economy. Through the RSU Startup Community, participants can share their ideas and get the resources required to implement change. As a long-time supporter and user of Oracle Cloud, it was natural for us to gravitate towards a provider that we know and trust, ant that has been extremely supportive and flexible, dedicating resources to enable the success of our community and students,” said Asst. Prof. Dr. Chetneti Srisaan, Dean of the college of Digital Innovation and Information Technology, Rangsit University.

As part of the project, RSU has collaborated with Oracle to introduce cloud into its curriculum for its Information and Communication Technology program. The syllabus for these sessions includes lessons on Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Business Analytics, application development and more. The courses are led by Oracle staff, bringing real-world business knowledge and insight into the classroom.

“We are very excited for this opportunity to support Rangsit University. The RSU Startup Community is a wonderful initiative that is well-known for developing popular applications that are being used today in Thailand.  It is an honor to be part of this landmark movement. Oracle is a strong believer that technology today is going to change the jobs of the future.  Collaborating with RSU is a step forward in preparing the next generation workforce in Thailand,” said Pasanan Chamusri, Cloud Platform Lead, Thailand.

To launch the start of the project, RSU and Oracle will also be organizing a hackathon* on campus. Over 100 students will be tasked to develop a business case around how they can integrate innovative ideas into everyday life.
