Adaptive, consistent, enterprise scale workflows

  • MicroTx workflows with agentic AI

Run adaptive, enterprise-grade workflows—durably, securely, and at scale.

Design and execute durable workflows that coordinate services, events, data, approvals, and AI agents while maintaining visibility, governance, and reliability.

    • Durable, restart-safe orchestration with retries, timeouts, compensations, and transactions
    • Event-driven and scheduled orchestration
    • Built-in agentic AI tasks, planning, and tool integration
    • Human approvals and policy checkpoints
    • Security and end-to-end observability
    • Integration with existing services with no code changes
  • MicroTx distributed transactions

    Ensure consistency across microservices

Maintain data integrity across services using proven transaction patterns designed for cloud native architectures.

    • XA (two-phase commit) transactions
    • Saga (LRA) for long-running processes
    • TCC (try-confirm-cancel) support
    • Built-in recovery and fault handling
    • Broad framework and language support

Start with MicroTx Free. Scale to production with MicroTx Enterprise Edition.

  • MicroTx Free: A free edition for developers to build and evaluate applications using distributed transactions and workflows with agentic AI. It supports core capabilities for orchestrating microservices, automating workflows, and integrating AI-driven decisions, with limited throughput. Ideal for learning, prototyping, and development environments. Support is community-based.
  • MicroTx Enterprise Edition: A production-ready platform for building and operating applications that combine high-scale distributed transactions and workflows with agentic AI. It provides enterprise-grade capabilities, including high availability, scalability, resiliency, governance, and observability. Designed for mission-critical workloads with no limits on transaction or workflow throughput and backed by Oracle Support.

Why use MicroTx?

  • Increase developer productivity

Build faster by orchestrating business flows with agentic AI for planning, routing, and approvals, while relying on distributed transactions only where strict consistency is required.

  • Leverage existing assets and frameworks

Adopt workflow orchestration and agentic AI incrementally with your current services, tools, and frameworks, then add distributed transaction patterns without large-scale rewrites.

  • Gain intelligent automation with governance

Embed agentic AI into workflows for adaptive execution and decision-making with policy guardrails, human checkpoints, and auditability across the process lifecycle.

  • Built on industry standards

Combine standards-based workflow orchestration and AI integration patterns with proven distributed transaction models to reduce lock-in and align with enterprise architecture.

  • Consistency across polyglot distributed environments

Run workflow-driven, AI-enabled processes across multilanguage microservices and hybrid/multicloud deployments, while enforcing cross-service integrity with XA, Saga, and TCC where transactional guarantees are essential.

MicroTx architecture

Oracle MicroTx delivers durable workflow orchestration with agentic AI to automate and adapt mission-critical processes and extends that foundation with distributed transaction management to ensure consistency across microservices in cloud native environments.

, description below

The diagram shows a MicroTx runtime architecture arranged from top to bottom and left to right. At the top, Microservices represent core business services orchestrated through workflows and distributed transactions. Task Workers represent Java, Python, Golang, C#, and JavaScript workers that execute workflow business logic.

The central MicroTx area contains Console, Transaction Coordinator, and Workflow Server capabilities. Console provides workflow building, monitoring, and management for design-time and runtime visibility. Transaction Coordinator coordinates XA, Saga, and TCC transactions. Workflow Server exposes APIs, Task Service, and Task Queues; runs the Workflow Execution Service; dispatches System Task Workers; and integrates with Event Handlers, Cloud Storage Integration, and Metrics.

On the right, External Event Systems provide sources and targets for workflow events such as Kafka, AWS SQS, Oracle TxEventQ, and blockchain platforms. External Storage contains artifacts, documents, and object data in OCI Object Storage, AWS S3, or Azure. Metrics Integration sends metrics to Prometheus, Datadog, custom integrations, or file-based integrations.

At the bottom, Oracle Database State Store persists workflow and transaction state, and Runtime Platform shows the deployment platform, Kubernetes or OKE.

  • Workflow engine (with agentic AI and integration): Executes durable workflows with retries, compensations, and human checkpoints while integrating LLMs, tools, APIs, and enterprise systems for intelligent decision-making and action.
  • Transaction coordinator: Enforces cross-service consistency using XA, Saga, and TCC patterns for reliable distributed execution.
  • Console: Provides centralized design-time and runtime visibility for monitoring, debugging, governance, and operational control.
  • Enterprise foundation: Built on Oracle AI Database with observability, security, and resilience for production-scale reliability.

By unifying workflows, agentic AI, distributed transactions, and operational visibility in a single architecture, Oracle MicroTx provides enterprises with one platform for intelligent automation and dependable execution at scale.
