Avinash Ramtohul

Dr. Avinash Ramtohul has 22 years working experience in the IT industry in Africa including 12 years with Oracle in the Middle East and Africa. He is presently the managing director for Oracle in Mauritius and the leader for solution engineering in sub-Saharan Africa, with teams based in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa.

Ramtohul holds a BSc from the University of Pune (India), an MSc from the University of Bristol (UK), and an MBA and PhD from the University of Mauritius. His doctoral thesis specialised in information security for e-government, with a specific focus on government service digitisation in the African context. He is a Chartered Manager (Chartered Management Institute, UK), Chartered IT Professional (British Computer Society), and a part-time faculty member of the University of Technology, Mauritius.

Ramtohul has written for a variety of academic publications and has presented several research papers at international conferences, covering topics including e-government, information security, e-learning, and leadership/change management. He has also published his work in respected international journals.
