iStore iSend, a Malaysian holistic end-to-end e-fulfilment company that provides Warehousing-as-a-Service (WaaS) solutions supporting over 300 brands, has selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as its preferred cloud infrastructure provider to ride the soaring e-commerce wave in the region and help reduce operational costs. iStore iSend is migrating its business-critical infrastructure, including order management, warehouse management, and transport management systems, to OCI to better support its e-marketplace partners like Shopee, Magento, and Lazada, and delivery partners such as DHL, Lion Parcel, and Sky Net Worldwide Express.

OCI offers iStore iSend the complete suite of services required, Oracle Enterprise Database Service and OCI Compute , to migrate all its systems from Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as to build new cloud native applications and data platforms in the future. iStore iSend also selected OCI for its security-first design principles, helping to reduce the risk of advanced persistent threats. With OCI, iStore iSend can double its cloud footprint while reducing operational costs by 30 percent as it scales its business across Asia. The performance of iStore iSend’s order management system can also be enhanced. Customer inventories can now be updated in close to real-time, providing the company with more accurate visibility between items advertised for sale and current stock availability. With this, customer satisfaction can be improved as orders can now be fulfilled with better inventory management.

“The pandemic was a turning point for us. Billions of dollars of consumer spending suddenly shifted online. We needed a technology supplier that provides scalability while remaining cost effective,” said Noman Aftab, Chief Technology and Product Officer, iStore iSend. “We have been with Oracle since day one, using Oracle Database technology to support all our critical management applications. By migrating these applications to OCI, iStore iSend can continue driving double-digital growth while controlling our IT costs. This frees up resources for the company and enables us to expand our operations into Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines.”

iStore iSend is an end-to-end e-commerce fulfillment provider with a fully optimized warehouse management system designed to automate online operations for start-ups and international brands to increase their market presence and expand their omni-channel offerings. With fulfillment centers in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and China, iStore iSend provides the most secure warehouses, packing services, delivery, and order tracking features for its customers. As business volume tends to peak during festivals and holidays, iStore iSend requires highly scalable, secure, and fast back-office systems to help ensure virtually seamless operations, making cloud technology a key business differentiator and a necessity.

“The e-commerce fulfillment business is particularly dynamic, as it tends to experience spiking demand due to holiday promotions, launches of new trendy products, and even changes in market conditions such as the impact of the global pandemic. The partnership between iStore iSend and Oracle has enabled iStore iSend to drive strong business expansions to the region via OCI that provides a high performance Cloud platform with tangible cost savings,” said Fitri Abdullah, Managing Director, Oracle Malaysia.
