Middleware and Application Management

Automated middleware and application operations monitoring and management for Java apps built on Oracle and non-Oracle middleware.

Middleware and Application Management Overview (20:25)

A single solution for your middleware and application management

  • Quickest time to value for Fusion Middleware monitoring

Provides 1,000+ out-of-the-box server and performance metrics, including over 200 WebLogic metrics, over 300 SOA metrics, and more than 500 Identity Management metrics.

  • Real user monitoring for Oracle E-Business Suite

Monitor all the associated infrastructure components and track every step of every user transaction performed on Web and Oracle Forms pages.

How middleware and application management works

Oracle’s middleware and application management solution provides discovery, monitoring, and central management of Fusion middleware components—all from a single console.

You can easily initiate the monitoring of Fusion Middleware through WebLogic domain target discovery, using either a graphical or command-line-based user interface. Monitoring begins immediately with out-of-the-box target metrics. When a metric threshold is crossed, you can configure to receive alert notifications, program corrective actions to automatically remediate the problem, or run a diagnostic script to collect information. Target status can be visualized using predefined dashboards. In case of performance problems, diagnose the JVM by narrowing it down to a Java method or a SQL statement that may be causing the issue. You can also monitor configuration changes, audit access, or automate the patching of WebLogic and SOA.

Additionally, the solution provides end user monitoring and complete application performance management for both custom and Oracle Applications, including E-Business Suite, Siebel, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards.

Monitor WebLogic on Kubernetes

You can use Oracle Enterprise Manager Weblogic Management Pack to monitor WebLogic Server in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Kubernetes Engine (OKE) in three easy steps.

  • Step 1: Set up the Kubernetes load balancer service in a private subnet for each WebLogic Server, allowing TCP communication within the Virtual Cloud Network (VCN).
  • Step 2: Install an Enterprise Manager agent in the same VCN with the Kubernetes cluster. Here you need to create a compute instance in Oracle Cloud to install the agent. Also, create a public subnet in the VCN and configure security rules, allowing traffic from/to the Oracle Management Service (OMS), which is set up in a different VCN.
  • Step 3: Use the Enterprise Manager console to remotely discover the WebLogic domain, using the Enterprise Manager agent created, connecting to the IP of the load balancer service.

Monitor real user experiences for Oracle E-Business Suite

Oracle Real User Experience Insight (RUEI) is a utility that reports real user traffic from your business-critical applications. With it, you can jump-start the monitoring of your cloud applications. You can use the Oracle Cloud Marketplace app to deploy RUEI in Oracle Cloud with minimal installation and network setup.

Monitor third-party middleware

Monitor performance and availability using preconfigured, server-specific metrics, leveraging Enterprise Manager's powerful monitoring framework features.
