Business challenges

While now part of Chile’s social security system, the nonprofit Caja Los Andes was founded to support workers in the construction industry, and the initiative was so successful that it was backed by a national law formalizing family allowances and compensation funds. Founded in 1953, Caja Los Andes now is the largest of Chile’s five Family Allowance Compensation funds (CCAF), which administer social security benefits for the country’s companies, workers, and pensioners. The organization also offers its 4 million members banking and insurance services.

Caja Los Andes has long provided friendly and effective service to customers and members, but recently it took on a new challenge: to improve support and service systems for the fund’s more than 3,300 employees, who work throughout the country. To that end, the employee experience needed to move to a more effective technology platform, one that could also meet the organization’s need to migrate to the cloud and improve performance.

Why Caja Los Andes Chose Oracle

Caja Los Andes chose Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) after searching the market for technological alternatives and careful analysis. The organization prioritized the best, most intuitive user experience, while also considering infrastructure requirements and the implementation process. Because Oracle Cloud HCM connects all HR processes, from hiring to retirement, the organization can support employees throughout their time within the organization, including development, training, and other managerial needs.

Results

The top goal was to offer an improved user experience for employees; 94% of the company’s employees say they would recommend Oracle Cloud HCM. And 86% consider the platform very intuitive.

Employees have easy access to the system, and they have access to self-service resources. HR management now has comprehensive visibility. And in terms of ongoing innovation, the system is updated with new features on a quarterly schedule.

Two broad factors contributed greatly to the implementation’s success, says Paola Visintini, corporate manager for personnel and corporate affairs. “The first has to do with the system itself,” he says. “It allows us to connect from any device, from wherever we are, which is a very relevant factor for our organization because our more than 3,300 collaborators are distributed throughout the country. And the second is the satisfaction of all our employees when using our new platform."
