XFS - Block atomic writes in UEK8

Block atomic writes ensure that data written to a storage device is never left incomplete, even in the event of an OS crash or unexpected power loss. This guarantees applications always read a consistent copy of the data on disk, eliminating the need for inefficient logging methods.

The blog has the details.

Improve virtio-scsi device performance using iothread-vq-mapping

The virtio-scsi device now supports true multiqueue in QEMU 10.0.0, similar to virtio-blk. With the new iothread-vq-mapping feature, you can map multiple I/O threads to virtqueues, reducing CPU bottlenecks and improving scalability for I/O-intensive SMP VMs.

Read the blog to learn how to set up a VM with the new iothread-vq-mapping feature for virtio-scsi devices and explore its different use cases. We also share results from testing with the fio tool, showing how this feature can boost performance.
