Oracleʼs Optimized Solution for PeopleSoft Human Capital Management Consolidation using M-series servers, Flash and Enterprise Storage - This solution implements two modules in Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management (HCM) to demonstrate how Oracleʼs servers, disk storage and advanced flash based storage technology can be used to accelerate database transactions and enable unprecedented application performance. Workload consolidation is achieved through server consolidation while maintaining the appropriate balance of performance, availability, cost and expected future capacity requirements. Solution details are available so customers may replicate this solution in its entirety or implement recommendations incrementally.

Oracle’s Optimized Solution for WebLogic Suite: An Optimal In-Memory Data Grid Architecture - This solution implements the Oracle WebLogic Suite on Oracleʼs servers, storage and networking technology to deliver simplicity, performance, scalability, security and savings. Integration of all layers of the stack (e.g Webserver Tier, Application Server Tier, Network Switching, In-memory Caching Tier, Database Tier, Operating Systems, Servers, Storage, etc.) has been defined, optimized, tested and captured so customers can deploy their applications and services faster. This solution leverages servers and storage from multiple product families to match unique capabilities with requirements. Solution details are available so customers may replicate this solution in its entirety or implement recommendations incrementally.

Oracle's Optimized Solution for E-Business Suite - This solution implements the Oracle Enterprise Business Suite to demonstrate how Oracle server, storage, Solaris, availability and management technologies provide customers with optimized, high performing and globally available applications. Server consolidation utilizing industry leading scalable, RAS enabled servers and geographic clustering combined with integrated management to deliver high availability and scale on demand. Solution details are available so customers may replicate this solution in its entirety or implement recommendations incrementally.

Oracle Optimized Solution for Siebel CRM - This solution implements Oracle Siebel CRM using a unique combination of servers, storage, OS virtualization, application middleware and database products. This complete, proven and optimized CRM stack lowers customer costs, accelerates performance and scalability. The competition cannot match SPARC for powerful and eco-efficient hardware or for scalability. Solution details, including prescriptive sizing and documented deployment best practices, are available so customers may replicate this solution in its entirety or implement recommendations incrementally.

Oracle’s Optimized Solution for Mission Critical Databases - This solution demonstrates how to implement large scale, mission critical, database systems that are well suited for low latency workloads, workloads that benefit from an SMP architecture, environments with large memory needs and the installed base of SPARC customers among others. Oracle’s Sun SPARC Enterprise Servers, Oracle Solaris, Oracle’s Sun Storage, Oracle’s Flash Storage, and Enterprise Manager Ops Center combine with the Oracle database to deliver non-stop operations, extensive scaling, investment protection and a simplified database environment delivered by a single solution provider with a single support organization. Solution details are available so customers may replicate this solution in its entirety or implement recommendations incrementally.

Oracle's Optimized Solution for WebCenter 11g - This solution delivers optimized hardware infrastructure (Oracle servers, storage, networking) for WebCenter applications to enable superior performance, security and availability at lower costs. Enterprise Manager Ops Center is the key advantage to reducing cost and saving time by streamlining operations, speeding new service deployments and reducing both planned and unplanned downtime. High performance security acceleration is integrated into the SPARC T-Series processor and Solaris to provide Crypto Acceleration at 50% less cost and is fully functional with virtualization. Solution details are available so customers may replicate this solution in its entirety or implement recommendations incrementally.

Architecting the Oracle VM solution using the Sun ZFS Storage Appliances and Oracle Sun Servers - Oracle's virtualization strategy aims to simplify, manage, and support the enterprise stack from applications to disks for Oracle and non-Oracle products. Oracle VM is a key technology to fulfill this strategy — offering a highly available and high performance hypervisor that has a cost-effective zero license with 24x7 premier quality support for the full range of Oracle products. From a storage perspective, Sun ZFS Storage Appliance complements Oracle VM virtualization for the data of virtualized applications and operating environments. The Sun ZFS Storage Appliance is designed to automatically enhance VM environments with Flash speed and become cost-effective with the zero-cost license for key data storage software. Companies choosing both of these technologies can greatly benefit from a holistic software and hardware stack that is designed for performance, availability, and simplicity.

Measuring the TCO of Tape Storage Solutions - This tutorial presents a framework and financial methodology for deciding whether an enterprise should replace its current “status quo” tape storage solution with a new “proposed” solution, and the economics related to that decision. The framework and methodology are explained by following an illustrative business case from beginning to end. Each of the value drivers that contribute to the cost of the status quo and proposed tape storage solutions are analyzed in this illustrative business case. Aggregate analysis of the value drivers is then used to calculate the discounted total cost of ownership (TCO) savings, which is the difference in TCO between the status quo and proposed solutions.

Disaster Recovery Solution for Oracle Databases using Remote Replication Feature of Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System - This paper shows how to use Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System remote replication with Oracle databases and how to perform disaster recovery (DR) at the target site. The article is intended for Oracle database administrators, system administrators, and anyone who wants to implement replication techniques with an Oracle database. This paper is based on version 2010.Q1 software.
