Hypercare achieves a 3X performance increase and cuts costs in half with OCI
The clinical communication coordination platform uses Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to lower costs and scale data residency globally.
“OCI’s global presence and commitment to performance has given us the flexibility to scale efficiently while significantly reducing our infrastructure costs in support of our continued growth.”
Hypercare is a cloud-based platform that streamlines clinical communication and coordination in real time for clinical teams and healthcare systems across North America and beyond. As customer demand grew, Hypercare faced rising cloud infrastructure costs and needed more data residency options to support regional deployment requirements. The company selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for its affordable cost, global footprint, and ability to scale along with the company’s growth. OCI’s many open source services, such as HeatWave MySQL Database, Kubernetes Engine, Cache, and OpenSearch, helped reduce the company’s costs by 48% while increasing performance by 3X. The performance increase was due to OCI’s non-blocking network architecture that provided high bandwidth and low latency. The cost reduction was a result of OCI’s flexible shapes, which allowed Hypercare to mix CPUs and memory to match workloads, instead of using predefined shapes with AWS.
