The American University of Beirut (AUB) is a prestigious educational institution known for its commitment to academic excellence and cultural diversity. The university’s IT staff was struggling to manage a number of critical applications and maintain its infrastructure while keeping systems up to date and secure, leaving little time for new projects and innovation. AUB determined that cloud adoption was the natural path forward, and after evaluating several cloud providers, selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) based on its wide services offering and competitive cost. With OCI and Oracle Database Services, the university gained a more scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure. It was able to maintain normal operations during the country’s economic breakdown, which witnessed a severe outflow of skilled IT resources.
