Industry leaders gather to hear how to exploit Artificial Intelligence for business advantage
In January Oracle held its first-ever Global Artificial Intelligence Summit. The location of Dubai was an obvious one given that UAE is among the first countries in the world taking concrete action to position AI as a country-wide, strategic priority that will fuel economic growth.
More than 400 C-suite executives gathered at the St-Regis hotel to hear from globally recognized leaders and find answers to questions such as “How to make AI a business reality?” and “How to create new value with AI today in the context of businesses, public services and society?”
Oracle’s Senior Vice President for Applications, Alain Blanc presented the Executive Opening, followed by a thought-leadership piece from Geoffrey Moore, who is a well-known management author of best-selling books such as ‘Crossing the Chasm’ and an advisor to many CEOs. Explaining the new business opportunities AI offers today to lead the 21st century, Geoffrey clearly outlined that embedded intelligence in the context of business models, processes and decisions is the way forward for businesses wanting to take real advantage of AI.
An inspiring Oracle Keynote from Steve Miranda followed on how to transform these business opportunities into new value with next generation intelligent applications in the cloud, and what’s coming next from Oracle. Steve highlighted that, in the context of transformative technologies emerging everyday (AI, Blockchain, IoT, 3D Printing, etc.) only one cloud suite of applications can help unify them. Business applications become the value multiplier to combine them in intelligent and innovative ways, concluding that only AI plus cloud can help create value with built-in intelligence in cloud businesses.
The session ended with a panel of executive customers and experts from leading organizations: Chairman of SmartWorld; CIO of Du; Head of Transformation at Fawaz Al Hokair; and our SVP for AI Applications Development – all moderated by Francois-Xavier Leclercq. The panel covered the typical use-cases and business scenarios that will generate most of the value for businesses and society.
