Mia

"Don’t ever have the mindset that you’re stuck and that there isn’t another option."

Mia was born and raised in a small city in Peru called Ica, where she lived until she was 15 years old. When she and her family moved to Texas, she was old enough to understand that due to the reality of the world we live in, there could be obstacles standing in the way of her career goals.

"I focused on consistently pushing myself to achieve everything I wanted, one by one," she recalls. Today, Mia is a Deal Specialist for the License team at the Americas Shared Services Center for Latin America, where she drafts complex deals for one of the biggest technology companies in the world.

Harrison

"Being disabled isn't always convenient but it teaches you valuable life lessons."

Harrison likes to think of himself as a recovering nerd who also happens to be legally blind. After graduating from our Class Of program with flying colours, he landed himself a managerial role with Oracle Digital. Today, he leads a team of regional salespeople.

"Being able to put yourself in your customer's shoes takes expertise, imagination and empathy; none of which require seeing the customer. Sales, in particular, is a profession that requires having a thick skin and that's a characteristic that many people in the disabled community naturally develop."

Raina

"Know your worth and remember to celebrate your successes."

Raina has been leading a fulfilling career with Oracle for over 24 years. She currently works in Global Customer Support and has also served as the community leader for the Orlando Chapter of African-American Business Leaders for Excellence (ABLE) for the past four years.

When Black History Month comes around, Raina feels proud to share the celebrations with her colleagues and sees it as an opportunity to invite people of all backgrounds to learn more about her heritage, "It’s a time to reflect upon the sacrifices of our ancestors and to teach youth the power of knowledge and self-affirmation."

Sandy

"It's our responsibility to elevate other minorities especially when we are in a position of influence."

Sandy is a Senior Manager in Product Management and Strategy for Oracle Marketing Cloud. She and her family immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area from Taiwan when she was just 10 years old.

Since joining Oracle, she’s become an active member of our Employee Resource Group for Oracle Professional Asian Leadership which has helped her develop strong opinions about diversity and inclusion.

"Those in leadership positions have the extra responsibility to help others recognize their own potential and power, even when they can’t see it themselves."
