Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) 11g Release 1 (x86 32-bit and 64-bit)
Oracle RAC is an option to the award-winning Oracle Database Enterprise Edition. Oracle RAC is a cluster database with a shared cache architecture that overcomes the limitations of traditional shared-nothing and shared-disk approaches to provide highly scalable and available database solutions for all your business applications. Oracle RAC is a key component of the Oracle Enterprise grid architecture.
Oracle VM templates provide an easy and fast way of deploying an Oracle RAC cluster in Oracle VM for test as well as production environments. The template is designed to build a 2-node Oracle 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.7.2 or 11.1.0.7.6) RAC cluster, which includes an Oracle 11g Database, Oracle 11g Clusterware, and Oracle 11g Automatic Storage Management (ASM). More nodes can be added easily.
The entire installation is automated, requesting minimal information (e.g. node names, IP addresses, etc.) from the user when the first guest is booted at creation time. The final 2-node cluster configuration adheres to the best practices for prodcution systems as described in the "Oracle Real Application Clusters in Oracle VM environments" technical white paper.
