Using virtual reality, augmented reality, and data analysis to help businesses train workers, Argentine startup Covrel now works with four of the largest companies in Argentina in the oil and gas, mass consumption, beverage, and automotive sectors. The company, which is part of Oracle for Startups, launched in 2019, building a simulation of a fast-food workplace to reduce the time required for employee training. The company claims that virtual reality gives trainees better information retention than other learning techniques.
Like most startups, Covrel needed to cut costs, while improving performance, scalability, and high availability.
Why Covrel Chose Oracle
The company initially thought Oracle solutions to be designed only for larger organizations, and too expensive for the startup. However, Covrel learned that Oracle met all its technology needs, at a quarter of the cost of the tools that the company used previously. In a single weekend, the company migrated its products to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
In addition, the Oracle for Startups program was a strategic ally for Covrel, providing not only follow-up and support, but a technology team at the startup’s disposal.

Reduced technology costs allows Covrel to focus on other priorities, with confidence that Oracle products will be available and functional, with Oracle always there to help. Oracle’s worldwide data center footprint reduces latency and improves service delivery. That reliability allows the organization to scale its business and provide 100% uptime, with triple the performance of other tools on the market. The company has been able to expand services to several European countries.
