ADNOC Distribution is part of the ADNOC group, the state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is responsible for transporting petroleum and gas products to 360 service stations across the UAE.

ADNOC required a solution that would enable fast provisioning and creation of new application and testing environments. With Oracle Cloud, ADNOC achieved the flexibility and speed it desired.

We receive requests almost weekly for new environments for introducing new functionality or testing a new application. Building those environments tends to be very costly, so speeding up deployment and provisioning is a key business requirement. That’s why our move to the cloud was a strategic move.

Elton Oil Gains Secure Backup and Recovery with Oracle IaaS

Elton Oil is a Senegal-based retailer of petroleum products and related services, competing in the market for gasoline and oils with established multinationals such as Total, Shell, and OiLibya.

Challenges

Previously, Elton Oil was backing up its 100 GB SQL database to a local hard drive. That process took a lot of manual effort and a long time, and ultimately offered the company very little protection in the event of a data disaster.

Solutions

By using Oracle Storage Cloud Service with Oracle Storage Cloud Software Appliance as a cloud storage gateway, Elton Oils gained the ability to back up 100 GB of petroleum data in less than 20 minutes.

The company also optimized backup performance for 17 years of petroleum trading data from its JD Edwards ERP platform using only a 1 MB/sec line.

Elton Oil Gained the ability to back up 100 GB of petroleum data and compress it to 7 GB in less than 20 minutes.

We used Oracle Storage Cloud Service to back up 17 years of business data in 20 minutes. We achieved operational excellence by offering 24/7 access to secure and noncorrupt databases, even in the case of natural disasters or force majeure.

ironSource builds software and application requirements for a wide range of developers, device manufacturers, and mobile carriers. This has led to increased quality and an ability to scale effectively without increasing costs. It allows engineers to resolve development tickets, and the system automatically creates environments through APIs for each operating-system version.

Oracle Ravello Cloud Service has enabled ironSource to create more than 600 replicas of customer environments that are used daily for testing.

The overall benefit to ironSource was the ability to scale effectively our QA automation infrastructure. Windows client testing in the public cloud has historically been very difficult, but Ravello has been able to provide a clear, simple solution.
