    This Knowledge Zone was formerly called the Sun Chip Multithreading Servers Knowledge Zone.

    Distribution rights cover servers based on the SPARC T4, T3 and UltraSPARC T2/T2+ processors. Also included are Oracle Solaris, Oracle Solaris Cluster, Sun Rack, Sun data center Switches, StorageTek HBAs, and networking cards and adapters.

    • Processor Core License Factor for SPARC T3 Processors Reduced by 50%
      • The processor core license factor determines the number of licensed CPUs that are required when running Oracle software (those charged on a per-CPU basis) on multi-core processors. The core license factor for the SPARC T3 processor is 0.25, which is a 50% reduction from the 0.5 rate used with our SPARC T2+ processors.     Partner Installation of Oracle Hardware

    Oracle provides Specialized partners with the methodologies, resources, and tools to deliver their own hardware installation services. Based on Oracle's Enterprise Installation Services (EIS) methodology, installations performed by Specialized partners are recognized by Oracle for the purposes of support and product warranty.

    Specialization is mandatory for a partner to be recognized as qualified to install the products defined by that specific Specialization.

    Partners that perform installations are required to accept the Oracle Installation Service Addendum. Partners are also required to report installations to Oracle.

    The Specializations include:

    Step 2: Access Oracle Enterprise Installation Standards (EIS) Specialized Company
